Jean stopped Vulcan in mid air before crashing into them. She gently placed Gabriel onto the ground.
“Thank you for giving him back!” Jean said to Cassandra Nova as she surrounded herself with a telekinetic field that came off of her body like flames.
“So Orchis is what you have surrounded yourself with all this time! Puppets to your game for mutant extinction. A game you keep playing when you
come into this world as a mutant. Is all of this really because Charles tried to kill you in the womb? You are a Mummudrai the anti self of Charles and
because he was a mutant it allowed you to take his genetic material and live in the outside world. You have broken the rules and survived and lived.
I am asking you to break the rules again and find a life for yourself and not bind yourself to being the evil duplicate of your brother. You can be better
than this Cassandra. The possibility is before you and I am asking you to take it!” Jean tried to reason with Nova with hope that they could avoid a
nasty battle.

“Sorry Chere!. I didn't mean to surprise you like that! I was lost in the smoke.. And I swear it
was trying to lead old Gambit in circles..” He responded as Storm removed the dagger from his
throat..
“Ray is here somewhere too.. After we find Rogue and Armor we will need to find him.. He was
not in the best of shape the last that I had seen of him..” Gambit conveyed as they saw Rogue
and Armor appear at the end of the smoke tunnel..
He hurried past everyone and made his way to Rogue..
“You had Gambit worried when that lightning bolt hit you Chere!” Gambit said as he looked his
wife over to make sure she was okay..
a kiss before continuing their conversation.
“You okay you have some nasty cuts on you.” Rogue said as she checked out the cut on the side of Gambit’s face.
“Forge do you have any of that healing serum that Henry created out of Logan and Laura’s blood? Hisako has been hurt really bad and she might have some
ribs broken.” |

“I do not want to be a jerk or anything but we need to get this show on the road!” Jubilee spoke up.
“Ray is still out there and what I could see before dealing with these shadow beings was that he was not in a good place. He is hurt and needs
us, so whatever you have to heal Forge please speed it up!” Jubilee said as she looked in the direction of where she saw Ray last but saw nothing
but dark smoke.

“Forge do what you need to do. Jubilee, Storm and I will look for Ray and then you can follow our footsteps.” Diana said to the others and
then looked over at Ororo and Jubilee to see them nod to her that they were all for it.
“Jubilee, take us to where you last saw Ray.” Suprema said as Jubilee took the lead as Storm used her wind to move through the black smoke
creating a tunnel.
“I am not a very good telepath compared to my mother and most others but I can feel an evil consciousness within the smoke.”

Scarlett was about ready to pop when she looked up to see the dragon making her final descent onto the island. She turned back to see Grandma Jean having that nice chat with Creepy Cassandra, and she took a deep breath as she heard people screaming about Ray.
"I gotta...the future Father Askani needs me, and maybe things will turn out right if I help him," Scarlett mumbled as she ran past Cyclops and Ghost and started to search for Ray in the middle of all the mess on the battlefield.
{{Mel! You better not be wrong about all this Askani stuff!}} Scarlett screamed in the family link. {{I need to go help Mom and Dad, but first...I need to help Ray. I owe him after all that sh!t that happened before}}
As Scarlett took a deep breath, she felt her astral form search for a way to do both things at once, but she wasn't that strong.
She was not Grandma Jean.
She was not Aunt Rachel.
She was not Mom.
No cosmic bird of any kind. Not even the tiny ones Galen had at his disposal.
No goddess at her beck and call.
Just a ton of self doubt and a freaky power boost she had never agreed to.
{{What the actual f*ck?}} Scarlet thought as she "saw" all the Shadow Rays attacking the real Ray. The problem was that she was not able to actually locate Ray. She was just sort of aiming blindly in smoky darkness. This was weird, even for her weird family.
She shuffled her mental deck of cards again, but the same one, simply titled "Bravura" came to the top. She stood near where she felt the shadow forms were fighting Ray and started to put on the bravest show she could. Ray might have been miles away. She never actually saw him. Scarlett was going on gut feeling alone.
"Yo! Boys! What do you want him to do? Kill you or die? Because the Ray I know, even on his worst day, could eat you all for breakfast!" she shouted as the armor around her seemed ready to form weapons of her choosing.
If nothing else this would buy Ray a tiny bit of time to break away from these shadow bozos. Wherever they actually were.
"And I know I'm about as important to you all as a snack bar wrapper. I don't give a rat's ass!"
Scarlett wanted to telepathically contact Ray to try to give him a bit more leverage in this fight, but saying anything to him would be suicidal for her and get him killed a whole lot faster, too. If these were his shadow forms, they were likely sharing some sort of neural link as well.
"Or did you expect the Dark Mother, maybe, you bunch of freakos?"
Scarlett's armor suddenly morphed into the battle dress of the leader of the Dark Askani. It had been years, but Scarlett would never forget who she was back then. She never really wanted to go back to that place in her past, but if it saved Ray, then, hell yes, she would play it big for all to see.

few minutes before she felt her body knitting itself back together. At least that is what it felt like to her. Her ribs tugged back in place and reconnected.
“That is a strange feeling. It is working, just give me a few and I am good to go.” Hisako said as she watched Storm and the others leave to find Ray. |

“We are about to touch down!. Everyone get ready!” Cyclops said as they drifted into the horde..
Once they touched the ground.. Cyclops let go of Ghost and became solid and was able to use his
powers and he did.. The instant he let go Scott unleashed a wide blast as he turned his head which
pushed the horde back and wiped a lot of them out as Ghost.. Scarlet and Jean also joined the fight..
transformed into full demons with claws and sharp teeth. Even the sentinels looked more like demons than machines at this point. It seemed the
dark dimension that the Shadow King had control over was transforming everything that was under his influence.
“I have never seen anything like this before!” Ghost said as he continued fighting. |

“The Shadow King is the worst!” Havok said as he unleashed a plasma blast of his own to follow up after his brother Cyclops which took more
of the horde and pushed them back further.
“Jean is trying to talk logic to Nova! Does she really think that is going to work with that crazy loone?!” Alex said as he kept up with Cyclops with
another round of blasts. At the same time he was trying to keep an eye on Jean and Nova as that situation really worried him.

Jubilee's attack didn't just do a number on Raiden's Shadow copies, he was blown away by the explosion as well. Thankfully, he wasn't too hurt as his healing factor could quickly take care of the injuries, but he was happy that he had a chance to get away from his attackers, even if it was just for a moment. And he did know that it was just for a moment. He could sense the Shadows begin to reform through the smoke. All of them didn't return, but enough of them did.
And before he could get up to make a counter attack, Ray was immediately kicked in the face by his Shadow Phoenix. "They can't save us, we don't deserve to be saved!" The Shadow Phoenix followed his attack with a series of punches, but Raiden was able to expertly block those and counter-attack with a series of punches of his own before catching his copy with a roundhouse kick to the head. But before he could take out the copy, the Shadow Father Askani unleashed a massive bolt of black lightning into his body, causing Ray to scream out in pain as he dropped to his knees. The lightning has a slight blue shine to it as it emitted Ray's own energy signature.
At the same time, the Shadow Phoenix consumed Raiden with black fire as the shadow Zanarkan II lifted him up telekinetically. "After all, what use are we? A broken artifact of the Weapon Plus project, only meant to kill and die for a Messiah we never even believed in. And for what, to become him?" Zanarkan pointed toward the Father Askani, "To become some faith leader in a religion? What makes them think that's even possible? We can't even keep our loved ones safe!"
"Shut up!" Ray used all of his power to force himself to the ground, overpowering Zanarkan's TK with his own, and even managed to deflect Phoenix fire into the air. But as he tried to force his way toward his copies, he couldn't get past the lightning, and dropped down to one knee.
"Quieting us will not remove you from the truth, Ray Madison," the shadow Zanarkan I stated as he bombarded Raiden with a series of energy blasts. "You broke reality because you were too stubborn to acknowledge your fate. You know of their histories from multiple timelines, universes, and futures. You could've aided in saving them all, but you were too selfish to do what you needed to do to bring them into the light. And now you are no longer needed." As Scarlett drew closer, the Shadows looked over in her direction. The Father Askani formed his psimitar once again and began to rush toward her, as did all of the other Shadows except for the Shadow Phoenix, which remained to torture Ray.
None of this shit you say is true! None of you damned copies are even real!!!" Ray tried to use more of his power to break free from the hold of the Shadows, but the Shadow Phoenix was able crush him into the ground before blasting him with fire, lightning, and energy.
"Or maybe we're as real as you are! We are you, and being angry at yourself is going to get you killed. We both know how you like to get when you're mad!"

“I’m okay Remy. I have to admit it really hurt when it hit me but I am okay, Surgah.” Rogue said as she grabbed Gambit by his jacket and pulled him into
a kiss before continuing their conversation.

“You should be all healed in a few minutes.” Forge said as he put the syringe gun back into the pouch and then grabbed the gun he had taken from a soldier on the
carrier.
“When Hisako is ready we should go and try to catch up with Storm and others.” Forge said to Gambit and Rogue. |

Jackson laid on the ground disorientated by Rachel’s psionic attack on his brain. He looked up to see that the Shadow King was gone and Rachel was
floating in the air looking out around her and not down at him. He turned to his left to see that Namor was also on the ground slowly coming out of
the same psionic attack.
Jackson carefully grabbed his gun and clicked it over to a heavy stun and waited for the right moment to fire on Rachel. He figured that when Namor was
fully conscious that his action would be the distraction he would need.

Hound-Rachel was disappointed when Cable and the others disappeared before her eyes.. She
looked back at the Shadow King to see him in a meditated like state as he delved deeper into
the power of his shadow dimension around the island.. Hound-Rachel could feel it and she could
feel that her brother and the others had somehow entered into the mind of the Shadow King’s host
body.. Amahl Faroak unknown to him.. For her that was his problem to deal with.. She had her own..
“Your mind link with me gives you away!” Hound-Rachel yelled out to Ravager as he found himself
unable to move.. At that moment she felt that Jean Grey was close by and knew that was the biggest
threat that needed to be dealt with so she used the metal shrapnel in her hand and cut Hope Summers
throat and threw her down on top of Ravager.. She then waved her hand and Ravager.. Hope and Namor
went flying through the air and into an area filled with black smoke.. Hound-Rachel then flew in the direction
of Jean Grey..
