Ray couldn't see it, but he could hear the others fighting his Shadow copies. He could feel their energy spikes. He could hear their shouts as they tried to get to him and get to Armor. but there wasn't much he could do. Both Shadow Zanarkan's held him down while the Shadow Chaos and Shadow Phoenix laid into him with punches, knees, and kicks. Every so often, an energy sword would be taken out of him and stabbed into him. The swords A Shadow version of his much younger self, back when he first wandered into Xaviers appeared next and shoved his Katana into Ray's chest, and he let out another scream.
"This isn't what you should be screaming at!" the shadow Zuii exclaimed as he turned Ray's head toward both Gambit, Rogue, and Jubilee.
"Rogue will be fine. But Remy and Jubilation? Probably not. You're an Omega level mutant after all, right!" The Shadow Chaos shouted before he smacked Ray in the face. "All that power you've always been afraid to use!"
"But we're no longer really mutant, anymore, are we?" The Shadow Phoenix asked sarcastically before using cosmic fire to set Ray on fire. "We let that Witch rob us of what we are! We allowed that witch to take from our sister! And the entire time, we had this!" The Shadow Phoenix summoned the firebird around him before he punched and broke some of Ray's ribs. The shadow Zuii started to laugh as a boulder began to fly their way, only for it to be stopped by an energy blast from the older Zanarkan, who used Ray's own energy to rip the boulder in half.
"Armor is back up, isn't that swell," the second Shadow Zanarkan asked with a smirk. That's when the shadow Father Askani used telekinesis to catch all of the Shadow Ray's both Rogue and Armor took out and brought them back into the fight. He then split into four different versions of himself and took off, one to fight Armor, Gambit, Rogue, and Jubilee each.
"And now one of them will falter because you cannot muster up the power or courage to stop running, Ray Madison." The smaller Shadow Zanarkan looked out toward the battle and then back to Ray. "Your friends will die today, all because you refused to let us die, Ray Madison." The Shadow Zuii laughed again and gripped both hands around Ray's head and neck.
"And to think, you could probably save them if you hadn't ditched that little bird." The Shadow Zuii began to strangle Ray while he stared into his eyes. "You probably could've saved yourself, and now you're going to die like scared and weak, killed by your own shadow while your sister is off being the puppet of some old bastard who shares your father's name! Isn't that right Ray Hiryuzuii!!!!" Shadow energy and Raiden's own energy began to build and let off small explosions around them, ripping apart the ground and any shadow spiders and Sentinels that happened to pass.
"Are you really going to let us die, Ray?! Are you really going to let them die!?" The Shadow Phoenix asked.
"Of course he is! He couldn't handle the pressure, that's why he ran away! Ran away from the X-Men, ran away from the Phoenix, ran away from his future! But none of that matters now because everyone he loves is going to die. Unless you're going to stop running and embrace what you are? Fire and Life right? FIRE AND LIFE RIGHT?" As the energy grew, the shadow Zuii stared into Ray's eyes and saw a spark, and smiled.

Years ago, Raiden pushed it away, and today, Raiden brought it back. "Jackpot!" The shadow Zuii shouted as the symbol of the firebird began to form out of Ray's own energy. His arm turned into pure shadow, and he plunged it straight into Ray's chest, creating a massive surge of energy and fire. Even before Ray forced the Phoenix from his body, he managed to kill his demonic ancestor Zuii, who merged with Ray's spirit before he fully died. As a psionic echo, he was always in the back of Ray's mind, torturing him. And as a psionic echo, he was never really dead.
Shadow King's power and his expanding dimension gave nightmares form, and one of Ray's biggest nightmare's was always Zuii. And so the ghost had a body and had knowledge of Ray and his powers, so he knew what he had to poke and what he had to exploit. Ray's own fears were conjuring up Chaos, Zanarkan, and the image of what he thought he would be as Father Askani, so Zuii hopped along for a ride. There was always a chance that Zuii's plan could've failed, but Hisako running away in a panic, and Ray and the others going after her just made it that much easier for him to do what he wanted. And as the Phoenix energy emerged from Ray's body, Zuii hijacked it and used the power to turn his shadow body into ash.
And once the ash fell to the ground, Zuii himself was left in its place, revived by the Phoenix Force. Zuii tossed Ray to the ground right after as the summoned Phoenix energy vanished. Ray was too frozen in shock to do or say anything, and all of his other Shadow copies stopped moving the moment Zuii returned to life. Zuii took one deep breath and looked at Ray. "Slavask yeleam Maelheav!" As he said those words, Zuii paused, shook his head, and tried to speak again. "Slavask yeleam Maelheav. Slavask yeleam Maelheav? SLAVASK YELEAM MAELHEAV!!!" He was just as surprised by the words coming out of his mouth as Ray looked as now that he was alive, he couldn't form the words he wanted to say, and the words he did say he definitely did not want to say. Confused, Zuii used what little remained of the Phoenix energy in his body to teleport away.
Ray's Shadows remained and those that were attacking his friends continued to attack him and it wouldn't be long before the ones that attacked him would do so again, just without a version of Zuii.

Dana was able to pull herself together and listen to her mother Jean communicate to her telepathically. She was surprised by Scarlet's sudden
appearance and was still a bit fuzzy on all her family members were. When they survive this her sister Rose and her had to take Scarlet out for
drinks and get to know her.
Suprema grabbed a beam that covered the entrance of the escape pod and moved it out of the way.
“Sarah! Cain!” Dana called out to them and motioned them to the escape pod. She hit the red button and the doors slid open. Suprema watched
for a reaction from Cassandra Nova but Nova kept staring at Jean with a smirk on her face that reminded her of Frieza of Dragonball.
Suprema then carefully headed over to where Storm and Forge were hanging out.
“Forge is the most vulnerable one here so I will shield him as we get to the escape pod.” She said to them.
“This is going to turn bad real quick!” He said as he looked back and saw Vulcan flying in between Nova and Jean. He knew both Cassandra and Vulcan breaking
into a fight would cause even more destruction to the carrier.
“Is everyone in?” He said as he waited for Juggernaut, Sarah and finally Storm entered the pod. Once inside he slammed the red button and the pod shot out of
the hover carrier and headed down to Muir island.
“Let’s see where this is taking us!” Forge rushed to the controls and looked everything over.
when the engines kicked in. Diana saw Forge rush to the controls.
“We should be on the ground soon. I wonder what awaits us when we land.” Suprema said to everyone in the shuttle. Diana knew Forge pretty well but
not so much Juggernaut and his wife. |

Jean felt Scarlet enter the damaged bay and began to help her. Jean pulled herself together and hovered in the air close to her granddaughter.
(It’s so good to see you again, Scarlet. You have grown a lot since the last time we saw one another.) A part of Jean wanted to catch up with
Scarlet but this was not the time unfortunately.
(What is very important right now is that everyone gets off of the carrier alive.) Jean said telepathically to everyone except for Juggernaut but
she relied on Sarah to keep Cain informed.
Jean and Nova locked eyes and as if they were in an old fashion western standoff.
(To my left is an escape pod. I need all of you on it before the engine thrusters shut down. Do not worry about me, I will take care of Cassandra.)
As Jean said that Vulcan and Scarlet flew to her side. Jean was a bit worried about both of them. It had been a long time since she had seen Scarlet
and did not know her level of experience against someone like Nova. Vulcan was very unpredictable and crazy and most likely will make things worse. Back on the Hover Carrier. Gabriel gave Scarlet a smile and a nod as he was happy she was ready for what was to come. Vulcan had almost the same smile that Cassandra Nova was displaying.
Everything that Jean was fearing about him being a wildcard was rightfully so. Gabriel was looking forward to bringing chaos to Nova.
“So you are the big boogie woman that the Shi’ar talked about in their religious script. They say you are a monster, something to fear! I love to face my fears and bring
destruction to them. So monster, can you show me what makes you so scary?” Vulcan said as he flew in between Jean and Cassandra Nova. He was now looking Nova in
the eyes waiting for her to make a move.

What frustrated Jean was Cyclops and Ghost who were still on the carrier. Both Jean and Scarlet turned to the side when Scott and Genn phased out
of the wall and ran right at them.
(Scarlet we are about to go for a ride.) Jean said telepathically to Scarlet as she pulled her granddaughter into her arms just as Vulcan let go. Both
Cyclops and Ghost grabbed a hold of both of them in a group hug while Genn phased the four of them and fell out of the carrier and floated like a
balloon in the air slowly drifting downward.

Back on the Ground.
Betsy and Saber with the help of Brian and Meggan were able to fight their way to the other telepaths. The shadow horde did not cause too much
of a barrier as they began to pull back and gather over the Shadow King and the Hound version of Rachel.
“He’s got Rachel!” Betsy said as her fear began to change to anger. So the plan is we fight as a team to get to the Shadow King and enter into the
mind of Amahl Farouk and separate the man from the demonic parasite? I just want to make sure before we make our move!”

Back on the island below. “I got yah Surgah!” Rogue said to Armor as she landed beside her and back handed a shadow Ray in the face and then slugged another while
protecting Hisako who was not doing very well. She wanted to help the real Ray but she knew that Armor was more vulnerable at the moment.
“None of you are as cute as our Ray which makes punching all yah in the face a lot more easier!” Rogue said as she blocked and punched and
took a few hits as she was in a full brawl with a couple of them.
your strength in a fight. A faster way of recovering from a good beat down. As she did the breathing technique she was able to recess that her ribs were
not broken as she had thought.
Hisako then all of sudden jumped up and formed her exo-skeleton and swatted a few shadow Ray’s with her giant hands and then kicked another like a football.
She was in a lot of pain as she did so. Hisako grabbed a big boulder and threw it as hard as she could at Zanarkan.
husband Gambit and Jubilee hurried over and joined her.
“Hisako, how are you doing?” Rogue asked Armor as she could tell that she was hurt and would need some medical attention. Suddenly the shadow Raiden’s
began to attack again as Rogue was hit by black lightning. |

“ROGUE!” Shouted Jubilee when she saw her friend hit by black lightning and fell to the ground.
“Mother frackers!” Jubilee shouted as she threw up her arms and the whole area lit up like the 4th of July of explosions at full power causing multi
colored explosions that blinded everyone in the area and caused massive smoke which Jubilee choked on for a few minutes. She heard Gambit move
across the stones to get to Rogue and Armor. For that moment the shadow of Raiden's seemed to be lost in the smoke as Jubilee moved forward looking
for Ray.
"RAY!?" She called out for him.

(Yes Betsy that is what we are going to do..) Kwannon responded in the unify telepathic link that all
of the telepaths now shared..
Psylocke led the charge towards the Shadow Horde that protected The Shadow King.. The soldiers that
turned into demonic hounds began to shoot psionic webbing from their hands at the group.. Psylocke
used her swords to slice through it but it was getting the best of her.. |

(We will have to work together.. That means working with Cailleach..) Kwannon responded to
Cable and the rest of the telepathic mutants.. When she was merged with Betsy she had been
on the receiving end of Cailleach in battle in the past and understood how dangerous she was
and did not want to work with her.. Psylocke understood if they were going to pull this off they
needed her..
(We need to go into the mind of Farouk and separate him from the Shadow King.. Amhal is a
victim of this demonic parasite.. We need him to understand this!) Psylocke responded telepathically
as she decapitated a shadow hound with her sword..
(Athena.. Quentin and Cosmos we are going to need your help too!)
was also slaying both hounds and sentinels with her star sword.
Quentin was having a hard time using the sword and shield as he fought. So he transformed his sword into a shotgun and shot one of the hounds in the
face while using his shield to protect himself.
“Much better!” He said as he kept up shooting both hounds and sentinels.
(Whatever you need me to do I am there!) Quentin responded telepathically to Psylocke and all the other telepaths.
Psylocke and began to slice through the psionic webbing easily because of her star sword..
She reached into her cosmic like body and pulled out a second star and formed it into another sword and
helped cut Psylocke free.. Everly being a dancer allowed her moves to flow like a dance giving her an advantage
to cutting away the webbing.. |

Cable hit the ground hard as did Karenza and Cailleach as Rachel used what looked like Phoenix
talons to hold them down.. Rachel no longer had the Phoenix force but being a host for many
years had altered her just as her mother to a Phoenix in many ways..
“NOOOOOO!!” Cable shouted as he plunged his Psimitar through the talon and sliced the other
freeing Karenza and Cailleach.. When he turned around to face Rachel she had Hope in her arms
with a razor sharp piece of metal against her throat..

He was looking for you.. He will be surprised that I found you.. You always burn like a black fire..
Make Cable and Karenza bleed and come join us!” The Shadow King said as he began to grow bigger
around the top of the building.. He then looked up into the air..
“I can feel Nova's excitement for what comes next!.. No one here will make it off the island the same
again!. My essence will seep into all reality!"

“This is going to be a rough landing!” Juggernaut continued as he braced himself in the corner
as Forge did his best to pilot the shuttle.. A few minutes later the shuttle pod hit the ground
hard and slid across the ground a few minutes..
“Is everyone good?” Cain said as he looked everyone over.. When everyone responded that they
were okay he moved to the hatch..
“I’m going out first!” He spouted out as he kicked the hatch door open and stepped out.. As soon
as he stepped out a Shadow Sentinel swung at him but Juggernaut blocked with his left arm and
slugged with the other..
“What the hell are you?!.. You ugly!” Spouted Cain as they both began to engage in battle.. |

Logan plunged his claws into the head of a shadow hound as both Cair and Seth brought down
a man sized shadow sentinel..
As he leaped into the horde of shadow hounds he could hear the massive explosions of Jubilee’s
blasts..
Wolverine kept slashing and moving fast through them.. He was worried that there were so many
of them and that they were subhuman in strength that they would overwhelm him..
“I am going to need some help over here!” Logan called out when his momentum was starting to
slow him down..
