Just like that it was over and Genn fell to the ground on his back. He was exhausted and needed that rest. Laura also fell back and
laid on the ground beside him.
“A few seconds ago the sky was dark with black clouds and now the sky is blue and the clouds are now white again. That really messes
with my mind a bit.” Genn said as Laura laughed.
“I really wish that this is over but now we have to rescue Rachel and find Cassandra Nova.”

"If you all are good, I need to go get Brigantia to leave Sydney in peace," Hayley said to the group around Logan and Genn as she looked toward where Dante was standing near two-thirds of the MacLeod sisters. Piper was already lighting into Brigantia to let her sister go, but it was doing no good. "Brigantia, please. Sydney was not meant for this business."
Sydney smirked as she stood there with her arms crossed, the goddess inside her still in full control. "That was fun. Why should I leave? And anyway, maybe handsome here would like to..."
"Seriously? You want to undo everything Sydney has done? She's grown as a person. And you should not be dictating what either she or anyone else does in future," Hayley said as her eyes clouded over, her anger growing more apparent as she looked between Sydney and Dante. "They are good together, in whatever form they choose to have their relationship. Leave them be. It is called free will for a reason."
"You are no fun, daughter of Danu, and I am going nowhere," Brigantia growled as she seemed to take a tighter hold on the Scottish witch.
"Piper, does your family have ties..."
"None that I know of," Piper, the eldest surviving MacLeod sister, said as she looked back at Hayley. "So, maybe you should fill me in on this spell you two geniuses cast, since I do not see Alucard rocking up any time soon to put a natural end to your handiwork. Maybe we can make a work-around to fix things until we can get him back?"

"If either of you gentlemen need healing, say the word," Piper said to D and Dante, keeping a wide birth of the flerken for the moment. "D, your little buddy there certainly earned a feast of whatever it likes to eat for all the work done here today. I meant to ask, is it male, female, or do flerkens not have genders like Earth animals?"
Piper needed to ask the weird questions to keep herself from screaming. There was a lot she needed to process in the middle of this mess, and now that the Shadow King was gone, then she could concentrate on this familial mess.
She almost started to remark that getting the Shadow King out of there was a bit too easy, but she did not want to jinx it.
"I'll ask Granddad about it, but I don't remember any mention of Brigantia at all," Piper added as she looked over at some of the Summers group. Then she looked toward Ray and Marcela.
"Wait, what happened to that Father Askani character?"

Scarlett was thrown backward during that last power stunt Marcela did with the Shadow Father Askani, and the searing pain in her head made it hard for her to focus on the fight.
The Shadow King was pushed through the vortex by one of the mightiest group efforts the X-Men had done in years, but she wasn't sure what that meant for Ray's own shadowy demons. Were they really part of the Shadow King's assault, or were they something else entirely?
"Marcela, is that thing gone? Ray, are you OK?" Scarlett shouted as she tried to get to her feet. She winced in pain again, wondering why in the name of heaven the Askani Force wasn't healing her like it healed her mom in battle when needed. Then it dawned on her. "Oh crap," she mumbled as she felt the cosmic bird inside her start to struggle. "Go already. Please."
As she felt the tiny portion of the cosmic light and darkness flee from her, the armor that had been the "upgrade gift" from Siofra started to take over and heal her. She looked toward Ray and Marcela and felt way too many emotions fighting inside her all at once. "Not now, you old bat," she muttered as she finally got to her feet. "Is that demon gone?"

As Kari stood at Nathan's back fighting the shadow demons, she heard Scarlett's plea and let a portion of the Askani Force go to her daughter. She knew Nathan could feel the sudden impact that little loan caused his wife, but desperate times were not the place to quibble about anything. "I'm fine. I just hope what Xorn is doing can weaken those shadows dogging Ray. I don't dare cast a spell at this point, so the sword will have to do for now!"
Kari looked briefly at Cailleach as she, too, went after some of the Shadow King's demons, sending one to a fiery end with her own blade. "If your thoughts are right about Stryfe, Nathan, then he either did what he did to get her back or because he thought she was really dead. And as for Cass..."
As she spun to take on another demon, Kari thought back to Cass, Antonio and Giovanna. Giovanna had likely inherited her father's darkness powers, and that alone would have made her a target for any number of villains.
As thoughts floated around the team link, Kari tried to see if she could see where Nova had fled to with Rachel. "We'll get Rachel back, Nathan. I'll gladly take out that bald fool along with the damned spider."
that he was feeling about what had happened to Rachel.. Rachel worked hard to heal herself of the
Hound she was made into by Ahab and the things that she had done under his control.. No matter
how all of this shakes out Rachel would have to try and re-heal those wounds..
“Stryfe will always embrace chaos in all forms and I do not think he knows about Cailleach or he
would be here for her right now!” Cable said to Kari as he blasted a couple of Shadow demons with
his telekinesis while spinning around with his Psimitar slicing the head off of another just as Karenza
cut one in half..
“They are staying dead thanks to Xorn..” Cable said as he spun around and grappled his arm around
his wife’s arm as they spun one another around slicing a group of demons that tried to surround them..
As they spun around Cable leaned forward and kissed Kari on the lips like they did in the danger room
when they came up with the move.. Nathan could not help himself.. Kari very carefully tucked this memory away in her heart as Nathan kissed her, knowing all too well that her time this go-round with her husband would draw to a close soon.
Yes, he would be back. She knew that. Or more correctly, she had to will herself to believe it as he held her close. They had just gotten back to each other it seemed, and here the universe was pulling them apart once more.
"I'll help Rachel all I can," Kari said softly as she felt the portion of the Askani Force that she had given to Scarlett return to her. "And I think Scarlett is next on that list. Siofra did something to her, and I want to find out why just as much as I want Scarlett to be able to come to grips with it. I never wanted any of my children to be standing where I once stood."
Kari looked to where the vortex had been, and she wondered what Saber would say once he returned. The team had made a mighty effort to get The Shadow King out of this world. "I'm sure Saber will want to lock that vortex once he returns. No one wants that demon back in this world."

“You have brought up a very important point Alex..” Cyclops responded to Havok as he looked
around at all the carnage around them.. The island had Orchis transports from the hover carrier
scattered all over the place.. Very few were intact, most of them were in pieces..
“The Shadow King.. Cassandra Nova.. Ahab and Stryfe made an alliance with Orchis but all of them
are self-serving and ruled by their own ego of power.. That is why all this had happened and why we
were able to make it through this attack!” Scott explained as the other X-Men began to make their
way over from the other parts of the island..
“Jean and I received an update from the Professor and we have Ahab’s ship in New York.. X-Force
already has eyes on Ahab.. Orchis has already launched an attack on the mansion and we lost
Wolfsbane and Blindfold to the attack..” Cyclops conveyed with a lot of pain behind his voice.. Jean
and I will be heading back to the Mansion to join that battle..”

be doing!” Cable spoke up after Cyclops with Quentin and Cosmos walking over and joining them..
Both Major X and Ravager also made their way over to Cable and Karenza..

It took Logan a few moments for his body to heal and his uniform to also regenerate around him..
“I am pretty sure by now with the rate I have lost my uniform in battle over the years that everyone
has seen me in my birthday suit by now Darlin!” Logan said to Cair and he realized that his cigars that
he had in his last uniform were also destroyed and he found himself annoyed by the loss..
Cair and him headed over to where Cyclops and Jean were and listened to both Scott and then Cable
before speaking up..
“Cair and I will be joining X-Force of course..” He said as he put his hand on Quentin’s shoulder and both
looked at one another and gave a quick nod to one another.. Their relationship has its ups and downs but
Logan became Quentin’s mentor and built a father and son like relationship of sorts between the two..

“Cyclops is going to need a Wolverine so Gabby and I will go back with you to join that fight..
Also I need payback for Rahne and my friend Ruth!” Laura said Blindfold’s real name because
she was very close with her.. They were teammates as well as school mates.. Blindfold’s room
was across from hers and shared a lot of personal memories.. All that Laura wanted at this
moment was to take it out on Orchis soldiers.. And Gabby was just as primed for more action
and ready to go..

“Saber has taken Amahl Farouk to Krakoa’s healing gardens where he is being healed and taken
care of.. He was just a child when the Shadow King had taken control of him.. His whole life has
been under the full control of this demonic force.. Amahl has a lot to work through.. Excalibur will
be joining Cyclops heading back to the school!” Betsy said just as Saber returned in a black puff of
smoke above the vortex and began to close it..

"Nathan we've decided to split up. I'll be going with you to take care of Ahab and that problem. Rain will be going with Excalibur to the school. With everything that's going on the more we can spread the magical energy around the better." Persha said."I'm coming as well." Firechild said as she too walked up to them. "With the amount of chaos going on its almost a guarantee that their will be those with the means to defend will be heading there and I'm counting on my brother being one of them. And with Nova turning Rachel and her own connection to my mother. For the sake of both sides of my family. Ashsrdian and Celestial alike it's best if I come with you. |

With Althena's attack, Raiden was thrown backward by the force, but was lucky to avoid any sort of damage from it. Their combined attacks, coupled with the Shadow King being banished lead to his shadow copy to dissolve in a away. With the dust in the air, Ray couldn't see it, but he could sense that the shadow copy was gone and took the time to catch his breath.
I'm fine, thanks," Ray exclaimed as he used his TK to move the dust out of his way as he walked over toward the others. His healing factor was taking care of his injuries, but his clothes were pretty beat up and ripped to shreds. "Can someone magic me up some clothes?, I don't think my pants can take much more of this." When Ray was grabbed from Krakoa, it was pretty sudden, so he never had a chance to even grab one of those training suits everyone use to wear. And since he left the X-Men, none of his regular clothes were made out of unstable molecules, so he couldn't turn anything into his combat suit.
After hearing the news about Blindfold and Wolfsbane following another attack by Orchis soldiers, he gripped his new sword as he sheathed it. "Where Orchis is is where I'm going. They killed friends and they kidnapped my sister, I'm not letting that go."

Once all of the shadow demons and the Shadow King were disposed of, D tossed Dante's shotgun back toward him. After catching it, he was tempted to try and use it to threaten the Goddess possessing Sydney, but changed his mind, knowing it probably wouldn't work. Instead, he magicked it away along with his extra gear. "As much as I want to argue with another god, I don't think we have the time or the breath," he said to Hayley and Piper while ignoring Brigantia's comments. And like I said earlier, the last time I saw something similar, it was pretty beneficial. You know, being the end of the world and all."
Dante couldn't help but look over at Althena as he thought about that parallel world. He had a question to ask, but was interrupted when D walked over. "If anyone needs healing, it's D and his funky demon energy absorbing arm thing."
"Can't say I disagree," Daiyei replied. "I probably overdid it absorbing Ororo's lightning." At that same time, D's Flerken climbed up his body and rested on his head.
"Yeah, Piper's right, you never did give us the name for your space cat."
"She doesn't have a name yet. You're the one who comes up with names for everything."
"Yeah, but not naming your pet is boring..." Dante paused as he listened in to what the others were saying about what some of the other X-Men were saying, and his eyes lit up when he hear Ahab. "Shit, Ahab? That's not a good sign!" Patron deities taking over people, an anti-mutant army, and Ahab were three things Dante experienced at the same time in of the worst universes he'd visited recently, and it was the same place he got his techno-organic arm. "I'm going with Cable." Dante didn't say more, but he'd seen alternate timelines and alternate universes, and he was going to fight to try to stop what he thought was going to happen next here.
