“The boy is the focal point to the bonding of Amahl and the Shadow parasite that is the Shadow King..
This is the moment in his memory of when the Shadow King had taken him as a child.. This memory is
a nexus point and I can sever the link.. When I do all of us will be thrusted back to the island.. The Shadow
King and all its demons will still remain but they will be weaker and they can be killed in the physical realm
and returned to the astral plane.. The Shadow King will lead his army to try and retake Amahl Faroak’s body
to regain his power.. We need to keep that from happening.. We will need to guard Faroak and take out the
Shadow King and its demons for good.. Time is running out so everyone embrace for what comes next..”
Kwannon looked down at the young boy and told herself that he was only a memory and not a real boy as
she formed her psychic knife and plunged into the child's head.. A flash of light shot out of his mouth and
eyes before he exploded..
The explosion knocked everyone to the ground as they shifted from Faroak’s mind and back to the island..
Kwannon picked herself up off the muddy ground and saw the adult Amahl Faroak unconscious on the
ground before her..

The spider and the golden mask shadow creatures were taken by surprise by the explosion..
They fell to the ground as the spider curled up into a ball.. A horrible scream came from the
spider as it grew and shaped into the true form of the Shadow King.. The Golden Mask Shadow
creatures stood up and formed golden swords..All the demons on the island were now transforming
into the Golden Mask demons..
“You Bitch!” The Shadow King shouted as he was now disconnected from Amahl Faroak making
him less powerful and vulnerable to a physical death.. Even though he was weaker and vulnerable
he still had the power of the astral plane that was fused to the island..
“He is mine and I will have him back!” The Shadow King shouted as the Golden Mask demons charged
the X-Men that were protecting the unconscious Faroak..

The Golden Masked Shadow demons were fast.. Cable and Karenza were barely able to block
the attack.. Combat reflex kicked in just in time as Cable used his Psimitar to block the gold
swords that the Shadows used.. Lot’s of sparks when the gold blade hit Nathan’s Psimitar..
The same thing when Karenza’s sword clashed with the golden swords..
Both Karenza and Cable fell into the Askani martial arts fighting side by side as a unit back to
back.. Cable was able to thrust the blade of his Psimitar into the chest of one of the shadows..
Cable channel his telekinesis through his Psimitar and the Golden Mask Shadow exploded in
flames.. He turned to see Karenza did the same with her sword causing another explosion as
the demon burned into ash..
“At least we can hurt them and take them off the board!” Spouted Cable as the two continued
their defense and counter attack..

Saber was not fast enough to draw his sword in time as the golden mask shadow demons
moved in with super speed.. Blue cosmic flames of the Sinnergy Phoenix exploded out
of his body.. Wings and talons turning the demons into ash as Saber took to the air..
As he floated in the air covered in his Phoenix Raptor he sensed something in the
ground trapped trying to reach Saber’s telepathically..
“XORN!” Saber shouted out when he felt Kuan-Yin Xorn being held under the ground..
Saber flew down and penetrated the ground with his talons and pulled up a black box
from the ground.. The Sinnergy Phoenix broke open the box and freed Xorn..

The Shadow King had recognized how dangerous Kuan-Yin was and quickly removed him from
the battle and put into a black box that had him contained until Saber’s Phoenix had freed him..
He floated up and joined Saber.. Saber connected to him telepathically and shared his memory
of everything that had happened from his point of view..
(The astral plane is bound to the island.. We need to undo that now!) Xorn said as he held out
both hands in front of him and began to control the electromagnetic fields and the gravitational
fields until he found the right combo and created a vortex portal pulling the astral plane into it
slowly..

Scott placed his hand on Vulcan’s shoulder..
“It’s alright little brother, you did your best against that sadistic monster.. Cassandra wanted you
to lose control like that because you weakened her in your fight.. She needed to get away and
used your rage and power to create her escape with Rachel..” He said as he looked over at Jean
and Firechild..
“Nova has Rachel under her power and we will need to free her.” Cyclops said as another explosion
of energy knocked all of them to the ground.. Everyone grabbed their head as the explosion was
psychic in nature.. He looked down the hill and saw all the X-Men that went into Amhal Faroak’s
mind were now in front of The Muir Island Science Facility.. Amhal’s body lay motionless on the
ground with the X-Men surrounding him and fighting off new shadow demons with strange golden
masks of the Shadow King.. Cyclops watched as Saber formed his Phoenix Raptor and rescued
Xorn from the ground and Xorn creating a vortex..
What really caught Scott’s attention was the Shadow King was in his true form and free from Faroak..
The Shadow King was about the size of a sentinel and was about to attack Xorn when Cyclops unleashed
an optic blast at its full power which caused Scott’s head to jerk back. The blast shot down the hill striking
the Shadow King in the back and taking it down to the ground..

“Good shot Slim!” Logan responded to Cyclops' blast down the hill..
“What in the hell are those critters in the gold masks? It looks like they need some back up!” Spouted
Logan as he ran down the hill towards the battle as the rest of the horde was also advancing down to
the facility.. The Horde was different as they all looked like smaller versions of the Shadow King demon..
They were small compared to the prime Shadow King who was the size of a tall sentinel.. The Horde
Shadow Demons were as tall and big as the Juggernaut in size..
Logan let out a war cry as he leaped from the hill and onto one of the Gold mask demons.. Wolverine
slashed the creature over and over as black tar like blood splattered all over the place.. The Gold mask
demon was able to thrust its golden sword into Logan’s stomach causing his body to burst into flames..

The Horde that Revolver was fighting kept changing forms from Raiden to demon and now
copies of the Shadow King..
As Gallion fought with a sword in each hand and could see the Facility in the distance..
Revolver was in physical combat with two of the shadow demons.. He was able to slash the
demons a few times and showed pain and damage but they were still fighting back.. One of
the demons almost bit his face but his helmet protected him..
Revolver was distracted when he saw the bright blue of the Sinnergy Phoenix rise in the air in
the distance which allowed a demon to slash Gallion on the side which took him to the ground..
Suddenly the sound of explosions and multi-colored lights as his wife Jubilee came to his defense..

“Saber and the others are back!” Gambit shouted out to everyone as he saw the Sinnergy Phoenix
in the sky over the facility.. At the same time he tossed a spread of charged cards at the horde that
was trying to move on both Scarlet and Ray..
“After we free Ray we need to work our way back to the others!” He spouted out as he leaped in close
to Rogue and went low with his combat staff and swept the feet from under a demon taking it down..
Gambit followed it up with a charged card to the face of the creature..

The Pryor sisters took to the Air wrapped in the Goblin Force energy. The entity the two women were channeling spread over the field.
"Seems like things were productive Persha."Darkchylde teased as Persha rolled her eyes.
"Yes....Now we end this." Persha responded as the two took the fight to the towering Shadow King.
"You have proven to be worthy adversaries....Its such a shame you won't join me." The Shadow King sneered at them to which both sisters responded by launching dark energy blasts at the towering being as the Goblin force howled with anger.

Hisako was in her full armored form when she leaped up into the air and came down feet first into the horde of shadow demons. About two
of the creatures crushed under her feet as she slammed her giant fist into the face of another. Hisako was in combat mode and was at full
strength with the healing serum that healed her.
“Is Ray and Scarlet okay? I can not see them!” Armor shouted as she side kicked another and spun around with the back of her fist making
contact with another. She kept fighting with the rest of her team trying to get to Scarlet and Ray.

Quentin was able to create two shotguns in each hand and fired them off just as the Golden Mask shadow demons charged them. The blasts
hit two of them and sent them flying back in the air as his wife Cosmo sliced one in half with her star sword. Her star sword caused her demon
to turn into flames and then dust. The two that Quentin shot were already coming for him as he formed his own power armor around him. His
power armor was as big and looked like the Juggernauts as he slugged them both as hard as he could, knocking them both down.
“You know Babe, this is starting to become fun!” Quentin said to Everly as they stood guard over the unconscious Amhal Faroak.

Genn slid in between Logan and the Gold Mask shadow demon that he was fighting and blocked the gold sword with his katana. Sparks flew then
the blades of the swords clashed. At the same time Ghost used his other hand and grabbed a hold of Logan’s arm. Before Genn could phase himself
and Logan the fire burned his hand and he yelled out in pain. When they both phased the fire was out and Logan fell to the ground and his healing
factor was kicking in. Genn stayed phased so his hand could heal. The burn on his hand would take a few minutes to heal as long as he stayed phased.
As that was happening Laura leaped through him and began to fight the demon. |

Shatterstar, Rictor and Kylun followed Wolverine down and joined the battle. It was clear that the shadow demons were now more vulnerable.
“Show me what you got, demon!” Star said as he engaged one of them in a sword fight. The demon was faster than Shatterstar but Star was
more skilled and had two swords which made up for the speed as he blocked and slashed. Smoke poured off the creature when Shatterstar’s blade
made a cut. When the demon's gold sword made a couple of cuts here and there as they fought it burned. It took a few rounds before Shatterstar
sunk his blade into the chest of the shadow demon and it turned into flames. Before he could enjoy his victory another was on him and he was in
another sword fight.
