(Stay calm and stay focused.) Cable thought to himself as he used a boulder to shelter him
from the barrage of blasts from the sentinels and the Orchis soldiers. He slung his rifle across
his back and pulled out what looked like a lightsaber from his gun belt.. The device was not a
lightsaber or a photon sword, his version of a lightsaber that he had built for himself.. He had
one on his belt but it was not the device he took into his hand. With his thumb he flicked the
switch and the device extended out on both ends like Gambit staff but the device turned into
a psimitar. This was the right tool for the battle he was about to enter. The psimitar was made
to be conduit of his telekinetic powers.. A holy Askani weapon which he mastered as a child..
{Logan I need you to hold this down.. I am going in after Kari and the others.. The Shadow King
has set a trap and I need to help them.} Cable said telepathically to Logan as he ran and leaped
into the spider dragon. At first it felt like jumping into ice and he could feel the spiders run across
his whole body for a moment before a burst of psionic fire shot out of the end of his psimitar and
then turned into a black smoke..
{Kari!?. Can you hear me?} Cable called out telepathically as he moved through the black fog searching
for his wife.. His son.. Quentin and Wind Dancer..
Cable felt something else follow him into the spider dragon and spun around to see who it was and he
saw a huge panther taller then he was before him.. The panther looked like a nebula out in space taking
the form of a panther..
“Cosmos?” He said as he could feel her mind and was sure that it was Everly..

Everly transformed herself into a form of a cosmic panther and followed Cable into the spider dragon. Like Cable she needed to help the others and be by
her husband’s side but so far it was just her and Cable surrounded by a black fog.
{Yes Cable it’s me.} Everly responded as she walked over to his side.
{So we are in a pocket dimension created by the Shadow King. I have never felt power like this before. This Shadow King is a psychic parasite feasting on a
mutant for its power. I can feel..} Before Cosmos finished what she was saying, a giant spider came out of the fog and landed on her back and bit her on the
back of the neck. She felt some sort of psychic venom enter her body. The stars inside of her exploded into a cosmic light that caused the spider to shrill and
fall back while Cable was engaged in combat with a few of them. She fell to her side as she felt the poison move through her body.

“It’s been a while since I fought a battle in some sort of shadow dimension! I have heard Mother
tell the stories of the Shadow King when I was younger before I lost her. We can do this together.”
Alexander said to his sister as he focused energy through his sword and flew at the spider and swung
his sword at the creature.. The creature used its legs to block the sword and to slash at Major X but
his armor protected him from the razor sharp legs. He turned to see Wind Dancer breaking Storm out
of the web just to see her transform into a giant spider and slash his sister.
“Natalie!” Alexander yelled out to his sister when he realized that it was a trap and pulled her into his
arms and used his armor to protect her from another attack..

“Once we get into the clouds and get a good view of the situation I am thinking that is the
course of action we will take.. I have seen what you can do Ghost and I have every confidence
that you can do it.. We need to get up there.. Jean and the others have already made it onto the
carrier and will need us!. Juggernaut be prepared, you will be the first one in when we get into
position!” Cyclops addressed everyone on the dragon..

A hurricane wind-like blast hit a group of Orchis soldiers as they came out of sliding doors, sending
them flying down a tunnel smacking into more soldiers as Storm landed on the hanger bay.
“We should hold this until Cyclops and the others arrive.. They are on their way now!” Ororo spouted
out as she made her way to both Vulcan and Jean..

Omega Sentinel’s holographic image appeared in the center of the Muir Science facility’s control room..
“General Tega!” Omega Sentinel called out as an older man in his early 60’s with a patch over one eye
hurried over to Omega Sentinel..
“The mutants have taken us by surprise and will retake the station sooner than later.. Nova wants to
make some sort of last stand here on Muir.. The Orchis council has disagreed with the decision and will
let Nova and the Shadow King do their own thing.. As of this moment Nova and Farouk have no more
authority over our troops.. I am physically en route from another carrier to extract you and your men..
General your top priority is to find the portable containment chamber that houses the mutant Proteus..
He is a valuable resource we can turn into a super weapon.. I should arrive in five so hold the facility
until I arrive.. Let Nova and Farouk be our distraction..”
“As you command..” General Tega said with a nod of his head before Omega Sentinel faded away..
“Doctor Gwen and Taylor we need to find the subject Proteus.. Kevin MacTaggart and prepare for extraction
in five.. Lieutenant Gain I need you to hold this station until Omega Sentinel arrives!” Commanded Tega..

Meanwhile back in the ocean...
Rachel was able to push the sentinel far out in the ocean allowing her to escape into the Muir island
water filtering system under the facility.. When she entered she saw Hope and Ravager slumped to
the ground taking a moment to collect themselves while Namor stood ready for the next move..
Rachel slumped down on the opposite wall facing both Hope and Jackson to catch her breath..
“Jean.. Vulcan and Suprema are on the carrier.. It is confirmed that Forge is there.. The Shadow King
is above and I lost mental contact with everyone above..” Rachel informed everyone..

{There was some sort of reality warping in that area where Angel was standing.. A powerful
being or entity with a lot of power was here only a few minutes ago..} Kaun-Yin conveyed as
he looked over where the broken glass was..
{Brother Shin and Zan stay here and heal this person and help protect the island.. I am going
to Muir island if anyone wants to join the portal will only be open for a short time..} Kaun-Yin
said as the energy around his helmet began to glow brighter and crackle with energy as
Kaun- Yin waved his hand and a wormhole formed right before him and he stepped through..
On Muir island in front of the Science Facility Xorn’s wormhole formed and Kaun-Yin stepped through
as a giant sentinel aimed its photon cannon on the palm of its hand at Xorn.. A massive blast from the
open eye slots of his helmet at the Sentinel caused a hole in the center of the sentinels chest..
{Hello Wolverine I thought that you and the others may need a little help!} Xorn said to Logan as he
blasted another sentinel that was about to blast Logan.. Cair and Seth..

“Henry I know you want to send X-Force out to Muir but your team needs to make sure both
the island and the Mansion is secure.. Muir island is Excalibur territory and this will be handling
this!” Betsy said to Beast before turning to the new Excalibur..
“Well Excalibur this will be our first action as a team.. We should go before Xorn’s gate closes!” Betsy
announced as she formed a shield and a sword and ran through the portal..
Once through the gate she threw up her shield to block a barrage of particle blasts from the Orchis troops
that came out of the Muir Research Facility in force.. Man sized sentinels flew above them as the giant
sentinels were being hit hard by Xorn..

Blue cosmic energy formed around Saber in the form of his Sinnergy Phoenix raptor and
flew through Xorn’s portal with Excalibur following him through the gate..
A loud falcon-like screech came from Saber’s Phoenix raptor as he came through the wormhole..
Phoenix talons sunk into a giant sentinels head and began to rip it apart.. At the same
time an orange cosmic fireball’s formed around the wings and shot down upon the Orchis troops..

SKREEEEEEEEEE!!
Kylun unleashed a sonic scream like Banshee at the Orchis troops when he came out of the wormhole
and went into a dead run at the army with Shatterstar and Rictor right behind him..
“Let’s drive fear into them!” Kylun shouted to his team mates as he dodged a few blasts before reaching
the army.. His swords sliced right through the rifles of soldiers before him before letting loose with another
sonic scream.. SKREEEEEEEEEE!!

The ground underneath Rictor’s feet began to flow like water and formed a wave of land lifting
him into air as Shatterstar joined Kylun to back him up..
With the wave of his hand vines came out of the ground and began to wrap around the soldiers
on the ground..

“Gambit is starting to believe that Muir Island may be cursed!” Spouted Gambit as he leaped
out with charged cards between his fingers and sent them sailing through the air at the flying
man sized sentinels that were able to evade Rictor's vines.. A few of the sentinels exploded
and more were caught in the explosion as Rogue flew into the group like a missile..

Kwannon was not a member of Excalibur or X-Force but when it came to The Shadow King it
was personal.. When Betsy and her were fused as one person the Shadow King had become a
personal archenemy of theirs.. They were able to put him down once before and she hoped to
do it again..
When she came out of the wormhole she avoided the battle on the ground and leaped up and
used Logan’s shoulder to kick off into a spin and into the spider dragon.. unsheathing her sword
at the same time..
It was like jumping into sewage at first.. When she landed on her feet she instantly went into a
combat stance with her katana ready to defend herself.. Psylocke could hear Cable and all the
others as they dealt with their nightmares but could not see them.. A light formed in front of her
and a young girl about four years old stood in the middle of the light.. The young girl appeared to
be Kwannon’s dead daughter which shook her hard..
“Mommy I am so scared!” Cried the girl as she held her hands up for her mother to take her..
