Michael nodded as he listened to Emma and Christian speak about the goings on before them. "You are right," he said to the siblings as he raised a glass of faerie wine to the group--even the insufferable Sparrow and Kari's brother Cormac who, last he remembered, wanted to pop Michael's head on a pike. "Perhaps this air of cooperation is what has been lacking all along, at least among our own people? We can't account for what the world will do at any given moment. Doom in Latveria, Zemo in Bagalia--the list of potential strong men dictators who could cause mutants trouble is endless. But together? There is nothing that we cannot accomplish, in spite of the actions of those who might stand against us."
After a moment of thought, Michael did pose a question that few might want to answer at the moment. "Has anyone discussed what the tin-suited millionaire and the super soldier will think about what has been set in motion? The last time I remember hearing what that family wanted to do with Stark," he said as he motioned to Kari and what had been called her personal army as they played the night away, "Kari wanted to punch Stark in the face for hurting Enya and Devnet? After his little stunt with the Phoenix, can we trust The Avengers to be diplomats or madmen? And I know there are people that cross over to both groups. I have always had the feeling that the mutant ones like Namor, Beast, Wolverine, Rogue or Storm got short shrift from the rest of them. I just do not relish a war with that bloviated fool Stark or that supposed paragon of virtue Rogers."

Kitty's heart swelled with joy as she watched Logan and his wife head for the dance floor with
the others.. She looked up and saw Saber and the others dancing in the air it was so romantic..
So she stood up and held out her hand to Sam..
"Would you like to join me for a dance up in the air.. Because we can?" Sam looked up at everyone dancing in the air and then looked back at Kitty. Bumblebee gave him a thumbs up sign, and Sam chuckled a bit. "I forget you can do cool stuff like that with your powers, Kitty. That would be fantastic!"
Before they took to the air, Sam realized that both Piotr and Pete Wisdom were nearby. Mr. Super Strong and Mr. Super Spy. ((How in the heck did I end up here with Kitty and not one of them? Were they freaking stupid?)) he thought as he smiled at Kitty. "You know, you are absolutely amazing!" he said as he finally got up the courage to give Kitty a kiss. ((And I bet I have doomed myself with that move)) he thought as he almost waited for her to recoil after what was likely a clumsy smooch at best.

Aisling blinked as the young man spoke to her. She studied him for a few minutes and finally spoke, "Aisling, and yea I'm not a party person so this is all... ...meh...for me. Didn't have much to party about when I was growing up. So what brings you to the wacky world of the X-men?" she asked. "Jeeze, don't I know that feeling." Liam said, shaking his head. "Funny story, that. Actually, it's really not. My sister and I got kidnapped by some bad guys and these guys saved us, and a ton of other mutants. We didn't really have much to go back to so we decided to hang here and see what came of it. Not that I think I will ever be of any real use, but hey,maybe they need a librarian." |

Ray wasn't too surprised when he noticed someone walking in his direction. He left everyone in the middle of things and it was clear how he felt about the way nothing really seemed to change that much since he retired. He didn't want to be be bothered, but be prepared for someone to come up and ask him a million questions about why he walked away, and was surprised and happy when it didn't.
He looked up as Mealla said her greeting and went off into her own space. He could feel that she was familiar, but he couldn't exactly place it. Everyone has an energy and psi signature, and relatives were all close enough to be recognizable. But he didn't care enough to try to narrow it down. Wasn't like either one of them wanted to be bothered much, especially by those having their fun. "Hey," he replied to her.
It wasn't too much longer that someone else came over. Ray didn't recognize the guy, but he seemed new. "Parties I'm fine with," he quickly said back to Dylan, "I'm not one for stupid decisions and sanitizing history. I was better off partying in New York."
If he didn't already promise Victor and Santo that'd he stick around, and if he wasn't counting on seeing his sister tomorrow, Ray probably would've gone back. He didn't know how he was going to make it from the bottom of the ocean to New York City, but he'd figure it out.

JJ's mouth fell open when Fantomex made his offer. "Well, we can ask Lu and Hollywood if they need a spot for the night. I'm not sure what the heck they have planned. Thank you. I missed EVA. Just about as much as I missed you."
As she twisted her thumb ring on her left hand, JJ thought back for a minute to all the "stuff" that had sent her running in the first place. If Fantomex could slow down, maybe she should, too? Maybe this big announcement would be the icing on a cake that, for once, looked to be baking nicely.
Then she thought back to the fact Fantomex said he trusted her. Beyond Lu and Hollywood, not too many people had ever said that to her. "And about the trust thing, I'm glad you feel you can trust me. People probably think I'm crazy, but you always saw past that. I appreciate that. A lot. And I trust you with my life. Will until the day I have my expy date punched, and I hope that is a million years from now!"
JJ grabbed a handful of the grapes and popped one in her mouth. "OK, these are amazing! Now to the tough stuff. You on a team at the moment? Or is that something they plan to discuss tomorrow? Wherever you land, maybe I can tag along?"
"Beast wanted to talk to me about being on a team tomorrow after The Professor makes his speech. So unless it's something boring
I am going to take it." Fantomex stood up once the music started and held out his hand to JJ.
"Would the Lady like to dance?"

"My healing factor just kicked in an I am free of the affects of all the alcohol that I had drank and finished my meal. I thank a
dance with my girl before getting some sleep is a perfect way to top this night off. So Rachel would you like to go for a dance?"
Jackson asked Rachel as he stood up and held out his hand. He did it at the same time as Fantomex which looked like they were
copying one another but it just lead to a laugh between both couples.

Both Bishop and Lazuli had put the rest of the food away and checked on the food for tomorrow before heading out onto the dance
area in front of the stage.
"It's nice to have so many people back in the fold. So much history in this dome right now." Bishop said to Lazuli as they began
their dance.
"It's nice that everyone for once is happy and together."

"So I am going to finish my drink and head to bed and get some much needed sleep for tomorrow." She said as she looked out
at the dance area and smiled to herself to see so much love and happiness.

The Old Man headed out and away from everyone and headed into the forest part of the park and found a nice tree to sleep under.
He did not need any of the fancy tents. The environment inside the dome was controlled so he did not have to worry about anything.
He pulled a cigar from his coat pocket before he took it off to use as a pillow against the tree. He sat down listening to the music
as he lit his cigar and enjoyed the moment before he went to sleep. He laid back and watched everyone dancing above him in the
air. What also made it entertaining was all the sea life in the background above them. It was unbelievably stunning to see.

That was before you showed up and trained me, before Mystique gutted me, before Logan got all screwed up as Death and stabbed me to be reborn one more time. Before that Sentinel hive blew up and everyone thought I died the next time. Before I vanished more than once. That dance on New Year's Eve and your proposal. We sure have packed in several lifetimes into this one..."
As her family kicked it into gear for another number, Kari reached up and kissed Nathan, and she tried to not make it show that her very life seemed to depend on it. {{We will let it ride. Roslea smiled as she watched her oldest sister and her brother-in-law take to the air with the other X-Men. She looked to see if anyone would take up the violin, and her eyes grew wide as Kari's friend John Constantine took up the bow for this next song. "I thought you were more punk rock, Johnny? Don't they call you Rock Star?"
"I'm a big softy for the old tunes, Rosie," John said as he stamped out his cigarette before preparing to play whatever the next song was. "Fires at Midnight? Sound good, luv?"
"Excellent choice!" Roslea said as she nodded to the mage-for-hire. "This next tune dates back to 12th century Spain, but it is a favorite among many in our lot. Everyone, we hope you enjoy Fires at Midnight..."

JJ got the biggest smile on her face when Fantomex asked her to dance. "I'm glad you asked," she said as she watched so many other people hovering overhead. "Technically my powers let me do that, but if you aren't into aerial maneuvers, then we can stay on the ground. Your call."
But JJ's feet seemed to have a mind of their own once the song started up again, and soon she and Fantomex were floating in the air like so many others. "OK then, we'll give this a whirl. But if it's too much, then we land."
This felt nice. Being back with everyone. Nobody shooting up the place for a change. No mansion blowing up under their feet. Calm and happy were a very nice change of pace indeed.
"You are still the best dancer bar none," she said as a slight blush came over her face as the music started to slow its pace a bit. "Damn, I missed you. If Hank's offer is good, I'll jump in--unless it isn't something you need my skills for. I know they have reasons for who they pick. It isn't school dodge ball after all."

inside of his head.. The feelings the emotions and the reality of how much time had passed by
since those moments.. For a man that has moved through time and space it had became a blur
at times but those moments were strong in his head..
"We have faced the impossible many times and we always find our way through it.. I have to admit
these past few years I had gave up hope and found myself doubting everything.. I had lost myself
in so many ways.. Then the miracle came when you and my family came back to me.. I found a
second chance in life which is strange to say when your a man out of time.. Whatever happens
next just know I will find my way back to you.." Cable kissed Karenza as they spun around in the

I got a new shiny blade to stab the bad guys with.. So that is good right?" Wade said to
Domino as he looked up in the air at Cable and Karenza and could not help but to think about
the great love of his life Vanessa also know as Copycat who spent a year pretending to be Domino
before she died.. A part of him was mad that the many times Cable and Karenza were separated
by death just to be brought back together again.. Vanessa was still dead and gone and he would
never have that moment with her like Nathan and Kari get to have.. The other part of him had hope
when he watched them together.. |
