father!” Gabby said as she rushed over to Seth and Cair.. “It’s so nice to meet you both!”
It took everything she had from not jumping up and down with all the excitement she was

“I second that!” Sam said after Warpath as he came in with the hugs down across the line to everyone
he knew.. He waited for Karenza last as he wanted a few more minutes with her.. She was a foster mother
to him.. With his real mother was back in Kentucky.. Kari was his mother figure at the school.. “Welcome
home Kari we missed and grieved your loss..” He said to her as he hugged her..
Keelie finally moved to stand next to Sam and smiled at the woman as she lifted an eyebrow in question. "I'm with him," she said jerking her thumb over to Sam. "Seems I'm the only one around that understands his desire to collect old fashioned pilots goggles." |

OOC: Another nod to characters not likely to be back this time out. To fill in the blanks, Duncan had the PB Adrian Paul, Colin's was Colin Farrell, and I believe Hallia was Summer Glau. She had a comic face for a time, but I forget which book was used.

Seth's mouth fell open as Gabby came over and started talking. He wasn't sure what the heck was going on. The last time he'd been near the X-Men he was rolling around on some Little Tikes scooter and pulling Nightcrawler's tail.
"Sister?" he asked as he looked at Gabby again. Then he looked over at Laura. He knew her from pictures his Mom showed him. "Wow. I can see the family resemblance. You look like Dad, Gabby. A lot more than I do. Wait. Mom, can I show Gabby that book?"
"If I actually have it," Cair said as she dug in the pocket of her leather jacket and pulled out a small photo album. "Just please don't mess it up."
Seth rolled his eyes as he opened the cover. "Mom is way too antsy about stuff. I just wanted to show you our brothers and sister. Kari's kids with Dad. Not this version of him, but one out there somewhere."
As Seth skipped past pictures of his Mom's sisters Maggie and Glynis and brother Jack, he found a group shot of Hallia, Colin and Duncan playing with him when he was a baby. "I don't really remember much about them, but they were here once. A long time ago. I'm glad I've got a family here now," he added as he carefully reached out to give Gabby a hug.

Kari hugged Remy before he turned his attention to Galen. "When this business with the Inhumans is settled, we should head down to Nawlins for a crawfish boil and some good Crimson Voodoo beer. I am sure we will all need the R&R when this is over. Galen, does Blink need healing?"
"I've got it," her son replied before Kari turned back to Sam and Keelie. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Keelie. Sam, it is so good to see you again. Thanks for keeping an eye on Nathan in my absence." Kari looked around to see who else was or wasn't in the room when a willowy young woman caught her eye. Kari nodded to her and smiled and prayed that her presence was not going to cause any strife for the young woman or anyone else. While the Summers family was a true marvel in its own right, the Clan MacFeorais, at times, resembled the collective force of a tropical storm or a Nor'easter. They were not always everyone's cup of tea. "I hope our arrival back provides more boon than pain."
"Oww! What truck hit me!" a voice howled from the back of the room as Kai finally helped his nephew and niece, Ichigo and Keiko, who had been going by the name Kei during her last walk in this world, get to their feet. "Where's Liam?" Ichigo asked as he rubbed the back of his head.
"I'm here, bro," the man said as he got to his feet. Liam was the last of the Summers-born siblings to shake off the effects of his time in the vault. He had crash landed in this world from another reality all together, and he had lost a wife and children shortly after the Summers War. "Dad?" he said as he saw Cable. Then he saw Citian and his family. "Mom! We made it home!"
"We did," Kari said as she made her way over to Citian, Rysta and Jett. "And I thank the Lord and Lady that we did," she added as she hugged all three of them. "And I am glad you made it back, too."

Elda made her way over to Rachel who was keeping to herself for the moment. "Hello Rachel is It? My name is Elda. I'm still learning of all the extended X Family especially those that are connected to my mother."

Bishop stood up from his seat as did Lazuli. He was in shock with what he was seeing. Karenza and her family and
friends were believed to have died and he mourned their passing. Now they were alive before him. “That’s Karenza
and her family.” He said to Lazuli as they got into a line that formed to great them. “I know you know the stories
about them. They were very important to our X-Men family.”

Out of the many years he worked in the mutant underground and the relationship he had with the X-Men, he
had never met Karenza and family. His Aunt Ororo told him stories as did Logan many drunken nights at Harry’s
Hidayway. Jackson had even seen her and her kids around the mansion but never talked. Even though he did not
know her he was very happy to see all of them back. The look in his Aunt’s eyes was nice to see and touched him.
Then Citian arrived older and that was a bit confusing to him. As well as a cool looking teen in black.

“I can not believe this is real!” Dani said as she gave Karenza a big loving hug with tears in her eyes. Karenza and
her trained together and they taught each other many things. Dani saw Karenza as one of her mentors as an adult.
“It’s a miracle Kari!” Was all she could say next.

“Yes a true miracle thank God and all the angels!” Rahne said next as she hugged the other side of Karenza. “It’s
good to see all Yee!” She then bounced over to Galen and gave him a big hug. “Welcome home!” She said as she
hugged him tightly. Before Galen could respond she had already leaped over to Cass and did the same thing.

He laughed to himself. “I am sure that is not that shocking to you. I know you have a lot of people you want to talk
too. I just wanted to take the time to say hello.” He smiled and then rubbed the top of Gabby’s head. “Take a deep
breath I know your excited little one.”

“Bloodstorm waved to everyone when Jessie introduced her as he mother. In her world she did not know
that much about the X-Men that arrived. The Karenza she knew died in a battle with the Brotherhood and
the Karenza she knew was nothing like the warrior that just arrived. Ororo found herself kind of fascinated
by this version of Karenza.

“She’s the real deal.” Domino answered back with a hint of excitement to see her old friend.
She then headed off and cut through the crowd of X-Men and slipped herself on through to
Karenza. “Death can not hold this external down!” Domino and Karenza embraced. “It’s good
to see you old friend.”

Before Kari said a word to Dani and Rahne, she caught her breath and tried to shuffle out memories of siblings and children no longer here that might have been nothing more than smoke and mirrors in another time and place. {{Dear Morrigan, if they are with you, watch over them well}} she prayed silently and out of the mental loop with family and friends so no one would feel her twinge of pain. "I can't believe we made it back. Again," she added with a chuckle before Domino came over. "You will all need to fill me in on what's happened since I last walked these halls. Come to think of it, are these the same halls anyway? We always had the lovely habit of having to relocate so damned often," she said as she pulled first Dani and Rahne and then Dom into another hug. "I know. I usually keep it together a bit better than this."
Kari looked toward Bishop and nodded to him. His was another face she thought she would never see again. There were others, too, and she could have done a mental sweep around the room to get all the backstory on what was going on in addition to what Nathan told her, but that was never her style.
"I fear this reunion will have to end soon so we can get to the business at hand with the Inhumans," Kari said to those around her. "I had so hoped that, for once, this family would not be marching into battle again. Dom, what is going on with X-Force? Rahne and Dani, how many students are even ready for this level of fighting? I'm too used to it, but I fear I am too used to it now."

Cass smiled as Rahne hugged her before the conversation picked up with her mom. "You are a sight for sore eyes. You all are!" Cass shouted as she brushed tears from her eyes. She looked at Dani and Domino and hugged them both as well. "While I'm not happy we are walking into another fight, at least this one will be real."
As she turned away for a moment, Cass kept replaying what had happened in the last moments of whatever Hell it was they had been in, and she was still at a loss to fully understand why Cassandra Nova or the Shadow King would have wanted them imprisoned for so damned long. Then she looked at Galen and remembered his past history with the Shadow King. "If we were powering up that demon, he will pay for it. And we have no idea if he has anyone else stashed in other locations. Mom, we might need to do that thing Mamó does..."
Kari looked at Cass and smiled. "You remember my Grandmother Siofra? You never met her when you first got here. No one here did. Not even your father."
"Then some of that crap was real," Cass said with a sigh. "At least at the start it was." Cass looked at Rahne, Dani and Dom and shook her head. "Sorry. Too many things in flux. Brain is like a big bowl of oatmeal." |
