"Congratulations Hisako!" Everly stood up and gave Armor a big hug. In a short period of time
both ladies had became close friends. "I have complete trust and respect of your leadership
for our team." She said as Quentin groaned a bit and rolled his eyes. "Don't mind him he's,
Well, He's Quentin!" Cosmo said as Armor and the rest of of the Junior X-Men laughed as

Lucas carefully navigated his way to where Lazuli was sitting. He had a cup of coffee and a cup of
Green tea for them both. Bishop handed Laz her green tea as he sat beside her with his coffee. They
both knew that that they were both going to be in the frontal attack. "Are you nervous about this
battle? I have to admit that fighting inhumans has me a bit concerned."

“There is an uneasy tension between the X-Men and the Avengers.. We had went to war with one another and
nothing has been the same since.. Let me show you.” Cable opened his memories of the battle over Hope and
the Phoenix.. The death of Charles Xavier at the hands of the out of control Phoenix host Cyclops.. And the devastation
of the Phoenix five that lead to that moment between Xavier and Scott.. Once Cable finished showing Karenza and his
children he turned to Kai and held out his hand to him.. “Welcome Kai I am looking forward to getting to know you.” Cable
said as both men shook hands.. Nathan returned his gaze back to Karenza.. “Jean is connecting to me.. She is very concerned
that I have not showed up to the war briefing.. I think it’s time they know.” Cable said as he walked over to where the mane
computer was.. With his telekinesis he pulled the webbing from it.. Cable then turned on the monitor and connected it to the
command room.. Suddenly everyone in the vault could see everyone in the command room and everyone in the command room
could see them.. There was a sudden silence and look of shock on everyone face back at the command room.. “Saber and Psylocke’s
team found some missing X-Men in the astral plane.. They were imprisoned by the Shadow King and Cassandra Nova!” Cable declared..

Everyone in the command room and the med station became dead silent as they looked upon
the monitor and saw Karenza and the others.. “Kari!?” Jean said breaking the silence.. “Is that
really you?” Her voice was soft like a whisper but loud enough for everyone to hear.. X-Men had
always found a way to escape death.. She thought to herself and then her thoughts went to Scott..
She hoped that somehow she would see him again..

Tears filled Storm’s eyes to see Karenza and all the others.. Kari was like a sister to her and the emotions
were almost overwhelming to her.. “Welcome home all of you!” Ororo spoke next wiping the tears from her
face.. Love filled her heart and the feeling of gratefulness.. She looked over at Jean as Jean reached out took
her hand.. It was the same feelings Storm felt when both Jean and Logan returned from the dead.. “Praise the
Goddess!”

“It’s good to see all your faces!” Logan spoke up as his eyes watered up and his voice cracked
when he spoke.. “All of you need to get your butts to the command station ASAP!” Wolverine
announced and then took a swig of his beer as if he was celebrating..

“KARENZA!!!” Deadpool’s voice exploded across the command station and The Vault. “I knew you can
not keep a good external down!.. I can not believe this!.. But I do believe this!” Wade but his hands over
the mouth part of his mask and jumped up and down like a kid who won a bag of candy.. “Oh man after
we kick the inhumans butts we’re so going to party!. Happy days are here again.. “Nate!.. She’s back buddy!!”

“Let’s wait no more!” Clarice said as a huge portal covered the whole vault taking everyone and any
cocoons from the vault to the command room and Med station.. With such a big jump she became
light headed and fell back into Galen’s arms.. Rain walked through the portal that Blink had created and as she came out the other side her mind opened up to many of those assembled but it was one in particular that she focused on but didn't have a chance to mentally contact as she suddenly felt two arms around her and felt herself fall to the ground as another redhead with horns was hugging her. "SIS!" Persha shouted "I missed you so much! Where have you been?!" She said as tears of happiness started to form in her eyes and Rain brushed them away. "I wish I knew but it doesn't matter. What matters is we are together again." Rain said hugging her sister back with all her strength. |

As Blink opened the portal, Kari looked behind her to see that the remaining cocoons had been opened. Her brother Ewan, a centuries-old vampire, had stumbled as he tried to exit his personal prison, but her adopted daughter Kendra Athonlea and her sister-in-law Enya Sun had gotten him to his feet and pulled him through. Kendra ran like a literal bat out of hell to find a blood bag to help her Uncle E get to rights again. "Ma! Unc got desiccated a bit in that screwy mess! Hankster! Cece! Blood bag, please!"
Kari felt a wave of embarrassment flood Ewan as Kendra ignored almost everyone in her way to help him. {{We're home, little brother. Just rest assured all will be fine now}} Kari said in their link before standing to look at the faces she felt more than once that she would never see again. She could not help but see the faces that were no longer there, and she did not simply mean Scott's. There were family members and friends that were no longer here, and new ones had stepped into their place in that moving tableau that was the Family of X. To be honest, she did not know how many of those missing faces had been visions sent by Cassandra Nova and the Shadow King, and she did not want to open any wounds that might never heal.
"I have got to stop doing this disappearing thing," Kari said to everyone, but she focused on Jean, Ororo and Logan. "I'm beginning to think the bad guys really hate having us all together," she added with a slight chuckle as she went to hug Jean and Ororo. "It's good to be home, ladies. And Logan, I'm sorry they got caught up in this."
Kari motioned behind her to where Cair and Seth stood. The last time Logan saw Seth, he was a toddler, and now he was almost 13 years old. Kari could not explain how that poor child and his mother got pulled into her mess, but whoever had done this to them was going to pay.
"Wade, did you say Inhumans? Oh right, the mists..." Kari said as her heart sank. "We saw that coming. Enya and I had a lot of visions during our imprisonment."
Kari gulped as she tried to think of all the visions she had had and wondered how many were actually true.
"I'm sorry that I sound like a babbling idiot, everyone," Kari said softly as she realized someone else had not chimed in about her return. "With everything going on, I neglected to ask anyone about Emma."

"Sorry, not sorry!" Kendra shouted as she finally found the blood locker and rummaged through for a pack for her Uncle Ewan. OK, so he wasn't really her uncle. Kari and Nathan weren't her parents. Everything had gone boots up and back again in her life, and she was still no closer to finding out who made her and why. That was all going to have to wait.
"Got it!" she yelled as she ran back to Ewan and slammed a metal straw into the bag. "Slow sips, Unc," she said with a decidedly lopsided smile before getting back to her feet and running to Cable. "Oh God, I missed you so much, Pops!" she shouted as she gave him a big hug. "I am so damned pissed at that jerk Nova and Shadow King. They got in my head good. You'd think I'd have learned to psi-block better by now!"
Kendra then looked over at Deadpool and smiled. "You! You! I wish I had been able to bring back things from wherever the hell we actually were at first. You would have loved this big gun I saw, Wade! It had a chainsaw on the end of it, like in Gears of War. It totally rocked!"

Cair and Seth stood to the side as Galen helped Blink. She pulled her son close to her as, through her connection to the Witchblade, she felt every emotion hitting Seth. The sentient weapon had protected Seth before his birth and had a mighty connection to him now. He wasn't scared as much as he was confused by everything going on in the room. His memories of his father had been, through necessity, mostly ones that Cair, Kari and others had passed along to him.
"Oh my God," Cair whispered as she started to feel something odd about Logan. "You were dead? How is that even possible?" she whispered as her weapon's tendrils moved from the bracelet around her wrist and wrapped around Logan's arm. "Nathan showed Kari things, and I saw some of them...and the blade did the rest..."
"Dad?" Seth asked as he looked up at Logan. Cair could tell their son was still coming to grips with this insanity. She had wanted to spare him this type of nonsense, but deep in her heart, since the day he'd been born, she knew that could never happen.
"I am so sick of being a pawn in somebody else's sick game of chess," Cair said as she hugged and kissed Logan. "So f'in sick of it." |
