“So Emperor, your time leading the Shi’ar was a complete mess from beginning to end.. Everyone
thought you were dead.. I think you made it look like you died because you were an embarrassment
to yourself and your family..” Cassandra said as she shot many tentacles out to grab a hold of Vulcan
but he evaded them and sent a blast over to her but she easily blocked it with another tentacle.. The
same tentacle came around and slammed him to the ground..
“So pathetic and sad mutant you are!” She laughed..
The tentacle began to boil all the way up to Cassandra Nova causing the whole telekinetic field to boil with her inside of it. Nova began to scream in
pain as Gabriel flew into the bubble and grabbed her by the throat and blasted her with Cyclops-like eye blast to her face before tossing her to the
ground.
“Who is pathetic now, old woman!” Vulcan scoffed.
pushed up with her arms and pulled her head up off of the muddy ground.. Her face was healing like
Wolverine.. Vulcan looked down when her face was healed enough for her to laugh out loud in a taunting
tone.. Vulcan did hurt her enough to weaken her.. Even in a weakened state she was power to be reckoned
with..
“You know what I want to hear from you Emperor?” Cassandra said as she hovered back in the air just as Vulcan
grabbed his head and began to scream out in pain..
“Yes Emperor!.. That is exactly what I wanted to hear from you child!” Nova wrapped a tentacle around him and through
as hard as he could into Jean Grey.. Both of them fell to the ground as Cassandra flew up to Rachel..
“Our place is somewhere else.. Let’s go find your master.. Hound!” Nova said as Rachel and her flew off and left the island.. |

Jean was so focused on her daughter Rachel she did not see Vulcan before he slammed into
her very hard.. He was screaming and grabbing his head when he flew into her.. The impact
was hard and when she was able to get control of herself it was too late she hit the ground
hard..
She did not know how long she was out but it was not long as she could still hear Vulcan screaming
in pain.. Jean was feeling thankful that she landed in mud and it absorbed most of the impact.. Jean
looked over at Gabriel to see his skin was glowing orange and the mud around him was boiling..
“Oh No!” She spouted out as she flew up in the air and at the last moment she threw up the biggest
force field she could create as Vulcan exploded.. It took Jean everything she had to contain the blast..

“Welcome back Slim!” Shouted Logan as his wife and youngest son Seth came over the hill and
into the horde.. All three of them hack away at the twisted creatures created by the Shadow King..
“Good job on taking out the Hover Carrier!. One less headache to deal with!.” Spouted Logan as he
continued slashing and plunging his claws into demons..
come over the hill and join the battle..
Suddenly a bright flash as everything lit up bright orange and white as Vulcan exploded and raw energy
rolled out of him.. Jean was doing everything she could to hold it back and keep it from destroying the
whole island..
“JEAN!?” Scott shouted out as Logan grabbed him and dragged him back away from the field.. Even though
Jean's telekinetic field held back the explosion.. The heat from the explosion was very intense and caused
the muddy wet ground around the field to boil and smoke.. |

“Oh bloody hell!” Spouted Pete as both Dana and him took a step back on the hill when part
of the island exploded like a nuclear blast.. The whole island was under a golden orange light
as Jean kept the explosion contained..
“If it was not for Jean we would have been ash!” He said as Shatterstar.. Rictor and the others
joined them on the hill..

“That was a close one..” Rictor said as he stood on the hilltop to get a better view of everything..
He watched as The Shadow Horde was in retreat going over the hill to the research station..
“It looks like the Horde is heading for the research station.. They will most likely make a stand
around the Shadow sphere above the station.. That is where all the telepaths are fighting the
Shadow King..” Rictor thought out loud..

“Cyclops and the others are heading our way.. We should rejoin with the others and follow Cyclops'
plan.. All that is mute if Jean is not able to hold on to that blast!” Kylun said as he could see how
Jean was struggling and then a dragon flew to her side with Merlin the White created a mystic field
to help her..
“We are so blessed that we have Merlin The White helping us.. I know that there will be a day that I
will bring down the dark one that has caused me so much pain..”

Ororo moved as fast as she could when the Shadow Raiden she was fighting flew at her at a fast
speed to slash her with his sword.. Storm was able to pull two hidden blades from her uniform and
began blocking each strike with her knives.. She had the blades tucked down across her forearm
almost like a gauntlet.. It allowed her to use both arms to block the sword with each strike.. From
the distance it looked like her arms were not being cut by the shadow Raiden’s sword.. Both of them
were moving so fast that it was almost possible to see how Ororo laid the blades across her arms until
her arm came around with a deep slash across the face causing the shadow Ray to bleed black blood..
“How long are you going to wear the face of my friend and brother!.. Faroak!?” Storm said after her blade
cut its face.. “I bet that stings.. My blades were blessed by shamans from Wakanda!” Boasted Storm as she
stood in a battle stance ready for more.. “The Goddess stands by me, demon! “
The Shadow Raiden and all the different Shadow Raiden’s were no longer wearing Raiden’s image and were
now in their real appearance.. A seven foot tall black demon with wings and a spiked tail.. The head was big
with red eyes and an even bigger mouth with razor sharp teeth..
Suddenly the whole ground shook and the whole sky was orange as Vulcan exploded off in the distance.. Storm
looked back to see Jean in the air holding the blast back from destroying the whole island..

A barrage of pulse energy blasts began to strike the Shadow demons as Major X joined the battle
when he saw his mother Storm and the other X-Men fighting the creatures.. He was ejected from
inside of the mind portal of the Shadow King and went to find Storm..
Before he could say anything the ground shook and he also looked back to see the massive pillar of
orange fire that Jean was holding back..
“What the hell!?”

The only shadow version of Ray was the one that Scarlet was fighting. The one called Father Askani..
All the others had transformed into shadow demons. From a hidden pocket in her uniform she pulled
out a small handle that looked a lot like the one that Gambit carries that extended into a battle staff..
For Hope it extended into a Psimitar.. The weapon of the Askani..
Hope wanted to help Scarlet as a shadow demon charged at Scarlet from behind as she was fighting
the Shadow Father Askani..
Hope ran as fast as she could as she plunged the blade of the Psimitar into the demon's back.. She then
used the energy of Proteus that was inside of her into the creature causing it to explode.. At that very
moment the ground shook so hard that Hope lost her footing and fell to the ground.. She looked up to Jean
holding back some sort of explosion..
Hope copied Jean’s power and flew up to her side and joined her and Merlin holding the blast back from destroying
the island..

As much as he didn't really think about it, Ray knew how lucky he was to have the X-Men. They were all here, fighting his own personal demons that the Shadow King brought to life while he was helpless to do anything about it. He's helped some of them like this before, but this was really one of the few times he'd been on this end of the relationship. As as everyone banded together to save him from himself, Raiden tried to use all of the power he could muster to push back against the energy blasts he was bombarded with by his Shadow Phoenix counterpart.
Thanks to Storm and her blades, Raiden could feel the tug on his mind go away as his shadow copies disappeared and merged into a single being, including the Shadow Phoenix that was attacking him. No longer under attack, he let out a sigh as energy and smoke trailed off of his body. As the explosion rocked the island, Ray was thrown off balance, and then the shadow Father Askani that was fighting Scarlett grabbed him telekinetically and pulled him over.
Ray used his own TK to grab his sword and attempted to cut his shadow copy in half the moment he got close enough, but the Shadow Askani ducked and threw him as hard as he could into Scarlett's own shield. "Your words are just empty sounds," the Shadow Father Askani said, speaking for the first time as Raiden slowly picked himself up. "They're nothing but the form of fear, just like you. And just like her." The Shadow pointed toward Hope just moments after she had to leave in order to help Jean contain the massive explosion. "Just like me. He's afraid of what you and I represent, and as close as he is to Hope, all he's thinking about now is how he was supposed to die to save her. And he's been running from that ever since."
"I'm not running from anything, and I'm definitely not afraid of you!" Ray shouted to his shadow copy, "And playing with my mind doesn't make that true, Shadow King!"
"Even now, you lie. You've been arguing with yourself this entire time while your friends struggle to save you from yourself. And they're all going to die because you continue to resist." In a fit of rage, Raiden used his TK to hurl his sword through the head of the Shadow demon that stood in front of Storm before unleashing an energy blast toward the Shadow Father Askani. He was as tired of this fight as any of them and wanted it over as soon as possible, but it seemed like the Shadow Askani was immune to Ray's own powers.
"You're afraid to hurt yourself too. It's why your friends are going to die here, and it's all your fault."

in pain.. Jean was feeling thankful that she landed in mud and it absorbed most of the impact.. Jean
looked over at Gabriel to see his skin was glowing orange and the mud around him was boiling..

slowly became aware. When he was aware he stopped the blast coming from his body.
“I’m sorry that I lost control of myself.” He said out loud knowing Jean could hear him. He felt a deep shame come over him and that surprised him as if it
did not feel right to him for some reason. Vulcan wondered if Cassandra did something to him with her mind to make him emotionally unstable. Or was it
just him that needed to have control over his anger?

“Now you know how I felt when you went missing! Storm and I did everything we could to find you! Are you done mending from what
the Weapon Plus did to you?” Forge responded as the three of them took different spots behind a boulder as they kept shooting at the
shadow Raiden’s.
“I am glad that we are both survivors!”
their way. He then pulled his second pistol and tossed it to Forge.
“That should be better than the one you're using!” He said as he looked back and saw the explosion was gone or under control. Jackson was trying to see
Rachel or Cassandra Nova and saw them far in the distance flying away.
“Dammit! Nova has Rachel!”

“That is not good! She had me under mind control until Jean freed me!” Forge responded and began to shoot the pulse pistol that Ravager
gave him.
“Is this organic tech like your helmet? We do have a lot to talk about and I need to know what has happened to you!” Forge could see that
Jackson was very different from the last time he had seen him.
“Somehow we will get Rachel back! Cable will not let that stand and will get her back and free from Nova’s control! So assume you and her
are back together again. That is good!” He continued as both of them continued blasting demons and moving locations.

lot and in time we will help control that rage.” Jean said as she extended her hand to him. |

Diana swung her razor sharp shield at the demon she was fighting. Moment ago the creature looked like Ray and then went into a full demon
form. The shield cut open the stomach and then swung the rest of her body around to take its head and she did. When the shadow demon fell
to the ground she turned to see that her mother had stopped the explosion and was no longer in the air.
Suprema noticed that a group of shadow demons had surrounded the real Raiden as he was in some sort of engagement with a shadow version
of herself she had never seen before. The demons were trying to create a barrier between them and the X-Men.
“They are trying to keep us away from Ray!” Diana shouted. “The Shadow King wants Ray broken!” Suprema ran towards the demons with her
shield becoming more razor sharp blades all around it with jagged parts. She leaped into them, slashing her sword and began her fight with the
horde.
