Kari listened quietly as Nathan spoke about what was to come, and it still felt like a damned gut punch every time they brought it up. As she put on the green dress she chose for the weddings, she thought back to their own wedding day and how it devolved into yet another X-Men event invaded by some lunatic fringe group looking to make a name for themselves. With any luck, today would be a far cry from that scenario.
She might have been away for what seemed like forever, but things had not changed all that much while she had been off screen, so to speak. Either she or Nathan always seemed to end up with the short of the stick more often than not. Maybe it was a Summers thing? Maybe it was some long-forgotten curse slapped on her family by a mage who felt wronged by her clan? Maybe it was fate or plain old bad luck?
Kari was getting more than tired of it. She also was not looking forward to any sort of solo meetings with En Sabah Nur. Nathan, Logan and Charles knew her history with Apocalypse went back to the Brotherhood of the Shield, but most of the X-Men likely didn't know much about that at all. Hell, there was a lot about Kari that most of the team had no clue about, and she was afraid those secrets were going to come tumbling out of the closet all too soon.
As she put on her emerald drop earrings, Kari looked at Nathan and smiled. "As much as the plan pains me, for obvious reasons, I have my part down, darling," she said as she put a final touch of lipstick on and turned to look at Nathan. "I'm just afraid things are going to get complicated as it all rolls along. I fear my grandmother is holed up in one of her safe houses, and if it is where I think it is, things may go south fast. I know you've heard of Bagalia. I know Logan has. I have a feeling I might be making a trip there soon to shut her down before she endangers anyone again. I didn't like being a pawn in her stupid game."
Kari stood up and crossed over to her husband, gently fixing the collar on his shirt before they went back outside. She wanted to ask him exactly when this was all going down, but she knew that might mess it all up, so she bit her lip and took a deep breath so she wouldn't cry. She knew Nathan would be back, but it was the time until he was back that scared her.

“Wow!. You look like the Goddess that you are.. I am a lucky guy.” He said as he walked over and took
her into his arms and gave her a long kiss..Kari stayed in Nathan's arms as long as she could before they broke their kiss. "Thank you. I'm the lucky one," she said softly as she thought about her grandmother and what she was trying to do. "As for Siofra, I wish I could say I knew exactly what her plan is. She thinks of everything like a game of chess. Move this piece. Block that attack. Kill Nur. Reclaim the Tara Mount. Go to London and raise hell. None of it is connected, and all of it is. I have to just shove her and her insanity far back today. Rory might have some more intel to give us later because he was the last one to have physical contact with her. He might have been able to lift something from her mind. He hates doing it, but he does it very well."
As they stepped out of their tent, Kari saw that Faith was over with Colin and the rest of the Howlett family unit. Finn was talking to some of the other students, and for the moment, everything seemed to be going as well as anyone could have hoped.
"Let's just enjoy today," Kari said as she held Nathan's hand and looked around at everyone having fun. "Wait. What is Wade wearing?"

Ray wanted to scream at the top of his lungs after his interaction with Scarlett and Maella. But he knew that would only lead to an argument, and an argument would lead to a fight. The wedding was supposed to be something special for his friends, and after many of their events had been ruined by some random Sentinel or alien invasion, the last thing he wanted to do was ruin this one. And with his mom shouting in his brain, he really didn't bother.
"I can't wait to get out of here," Ray exclaimed to himself as he stood up from his seat, putting up his psi-shields so his mom couldn't jump into his mind again. As he began to walk around, Ray spotted Anole and the others in the crowd and walked over. "Hey everyone. I'd say good morning, but it's not off to a good start for me."

"Why so glum?" The voice came from behind the young woman as another person walked over, only to trip on a rock. "Dios mío!" She exclaimed before she stopped stumbling. She stood in eye-sight of Kura, revealing her unnatural blue hair, shaved on one side of her head. Unlike many others who were getting dressed up for the wedding, she was dressed casually in a red off-shoulder t-shirt, purple skinny jeans, and matching purple and red Nike SB Dunk sneakers. She had matching headphones wrapped around her neck. And although the volume was turned down, you could still hear Kanye West playing in the background. On her face were super dark large rimmed sunglasses. Most importantly, her shirt was decorated with the "Magneto Was Right" logo right at the center. Even without Magneto's face on her shirt, it was obvious that she was wearing his classic colors. There wasn't a chair for her to sit down on, so she made one for herself by shifting the ground into a nice seat for her. "The festivities look like they're going to be a lot of fun. Put a smile on that face." As she got comfortable, two cups of coffee began to float over and landed on the armrest of the chair before cup holders formed out of it for them to rest in. Where the cups came from, no one knew. Where she came from was just as much of a question. "My name is Marcela, what's yours?" Marcela nodded to Kura as she spoke to show the young woman that she was listening. Even though she didn't go into detail, Marcela could relate. The two of them were probably more alike than either one of them actually knew, and it was probably what drew her over in the first place. After taking a sip of her own coffee, Marcela smiled a bit. "A long time ago, I learned that sometimes, any company is good company," she stated before looking out at all of the others as they gathered. "And you probably have as much to celebrate as all of the others. Sure, you might not be getting married, but you're still you. Uniquely you in all sense of the word. You have friends, family, and people who care about you. Not everyone can say that. And definitely not everyone here." |

"And if Amara is helping Tabitha set up places for us, that means Cillian is still asleep. Figures! He never met a bed he didn't love," Kendra said to Jono as she watched everyone gathering to eat. "I knew we wouldn't be that late. You are a lot better with time management than you give yourself credit for, babe."
Kendra had gone for bright and cheery for the wedding, and she figured she was likely freaking people out a bit. She was usually black leather and T-shirts most of the time.
"You don't think this is too much, Jono?" she asked as she twirled around a bit. "Ma insisted it looks great, but Ma is Ma." Kendra looked at everyone else and prayed she was not too over the top. Everyone else looked absolutely gorgeous.

“Everything is looking good!” Roberto said out loud as Jordan and him left the tent.. Sunspot
wore a very expensive black suit that was a gift from Tony Stark.
“I am looking forward to this day.” He continued as both Dani and Rahne walked over and
joined them. "Oh, you are smoking in that suit," Jordan whispered in Berto's ear as she gave the lobe a playful bite. "I know. I'll be good," she said with a wink. "For now anyway."
Jordan had chosen a short plum dress that was "slit" to almost her hip on the left side. It was one of her faves, and she was glad Berto had packed it away for her. Plum shoes and some simple dangling earrings were just enough to make her look and feel fabulous.
"You all look fantastic!" Jordan said as she ran around hugging everyone. "And hey, more of Squad Mac is coming over," she added as she saw Thom, Roslea and Kai making their way to the group. "We are going to have a fantastic time today!"

Kai smiled as he saw Dani was already there, but he also felt a bit guilty for being late. "My apologies that I was not here sooner, Dani," he said as he briefly looked over his shoulder and then turned his attention back to her. "You look beautiful."
The tengu was not usually seen in much beyond his robes or simple clothing, but he was starting to get a bit more conscious of his wardrobe now that he was moving around in the general populace of the X-Men. For today's festivities, he chose a black pinstriped suit, black shirt and a silver textured tie. Roslea had said he looked magnificent, and she was not one to tell lies--white or any other kind.
"It still amazes me that we are all able to gather here for this," he said quietly to Dani as he cast a glance toward where his nieces Scarlett and Mealla were deep in discussion about something. {{Is anything wrong?}} he asked Scarlett in their family link. {{Nope! Nothing to see here but us fashion-conscious Summers chicks. We're discussing what dress I should wear}} she replied as she shook her head furiously to make him well aware his attention could be diverted to the group around him. "Sorry, I thought I was going to need to play referee for a moment, but I have been advised to do otherwise. It seems to have been a fashion emergency and nothing more."

It surprised herself that she felt like she did around him. It was like she was fourteen again when
she was the most shy.. She was a little frustrated with herself..

"We all thought you left!" Spouted Victor as he quickly stood up and got Ray a seat to sit down with
them and grabbed a plate and put it down at the spot for him..
Mercury and Surge had set up a display of breakfast food for them to grab what they wanted..
"Sorry you had a rough morning.. Sit down grab what you need and I hope we can turn things around
a bit!" Anole said as he was very happy to see that Ray had stayed.. |

the lake.. Iceman froze the lake solid and we went ice skating on the lake.. That was so
much fun!"
