Power Suppression: Any mutant/superhuman/supernatural entity within his vicinity will have their powers completely suppressed. Colin can completely suppress individual powers and effects if he is aware of the powers effects and how it works. He can not stop powers that have physical effects like wings for flight. This power is always active and causes mutants to normally keep away from him. Colin generates a field that suppresses powers which can be manipulated to different areas of effect.
Power Augmentation: Restraint can enhance any mutant power to an exponential degree. By enhancing a metaphysical ability he can increase specific effects or the power as a whole. This power is complicated to use and requires knowledge of the power and time to use safely. By using this power to quickly enhance a metaphysical ability it can cause the enhanced power to burn out for an unknown about of time. It can also cause physical damage to the enhanced individual.
Sense Metaphysical power users and Power Tracking: This power is always active and has caused Colin no end of grief. Just by touching an individual with metaphysical powers he can know what powers they have and if they are a mutant or meta human. This works on some degree on supernatural entities but is useless against magic users or magic creatures. He can just tell they are different. The longer he is in contact with a person the more he learns about their power and what they are capable of. He doesn't like to touch people because of this but it does allow him to use his other abilities more effectively. With concentration he can track a mutants power when he obtains a certain familiarity with it.
Healing: Colin can heal individuals of a variety of injuries and effects. His powers are vastly more effective on mutants and meta humans. His healing touch can heal almost any effect and can even return mutants from near death. Humans and supernatural entities can be healed but to a lesser degree. This healing ability can subdue pain while healing takes effect. Healing physical injury is almost instant. Complex issues like poisons or mental effects can take longer and more in-depth analysis.
Biomancy: Colin can manipulate the biology of another individual to change physical conditions down to the genetic level. He can even activate/de-activate dormant X-genes. This takes time and effort to do effectively. The extent of this ability is unknown.
Genius IQ: Colin is no savant by any measure but he does possess a keen mind in the area of genetics, mutant biology and metaphysical condition. This could be a by product of his mutant ability of his parents interests.
Weaknesses:
Restrain is used mostly as a supporting role. His powers do are not very adaptable and require effort and time to use effectively. The nature of his powers have lead to him being introvertive and something of a loner. He lacks social graces and dislikes large groups. His powers can not effect him directly so if he is injured he could not heal himself.
Bio:
Colin was born into a rich family and wanted for nothing most of his childhood. He went to all the best schools and excelled in all his classes which got him paraded around by his parents to anyone who would listen. Just a happy over achiever trying to make his parents proud until that fateful day when his emerging powers changed his life for ever.
It started at school, just another day like any other but this time he felt different. A weird scratching as the back of his mind. Whispering in his ear that he could never make out and a pull towards someone he never met before. Without even realising Colin would leave for his next class only to randomly bump into a strange girl. Of course he had seen her at school before and she was popular as all beautiful girls are but now she seemed different. When ever they got close to each other the scratching would be come painful migraine and the whispers would become alarm bells in his ears exacerbating his migraine further.
Colin made efforts to keep away from her but no matter when he tried he would always find her at school or outside he house when he wasn’t paying attention. This apparent obsession got him in trouble with the police and arrested for stalking . His grades suffered and his friends disappeared quickly. Frustrated with everything Colin confronted the strange girl after school. He knew where she was through out the day and he didn’t know how or why but he felt drawn to her more and more.
After his last class Colin ran through the corridors to find her hiding in the girls locker room. Colin didn’t even notice when he burst through the door and saw her changing. Colin stopped and his eyes slowly widened as realisation of the situation set in. The strange girl was in the middle of changing from her gym clothes to her school uniform. She wasn’t indecent but a boy bursting into the girls locker room and just staring would upset anyone.
The girl screamed not in surprise of fear but with pure blinding rage. In the blink of an eye she pounced across the room and barged Colin into the lockers behind him, He collapsed in a heap on the floor with a groan. He looked up and saw a monster hovering over him. The girl’s eyes had become golden slits like a cat, her teeth had become enlarged and sharp. Blood dripped from the sharp pointed nails on her right hand where she had slashed Colin across the cheek.
The headache that had drawn him to her now felt like a sword had been plunged into his eye for a moment before it settled into a dull thud. Colin remained still and quiet not wanting to startle his attacker. It took all of his resolve not to go running and screaming from the room. With the speed she had used to close the distance between them he had no illusions that she could kill him before he even got to his feet.
This was the first time he had ever seen a mutant and it was the first time he ever suspected that he may be one as well. After much apologising and explanations Colin and Anna the feral as she liked to be called became friends.
As often as things do, their relationship ended badly when she became exposed as a mutant but Colin hid his status and Anna was expelled from school and never seen again. Colin’s guilt and fear of being exposed as a mutant turned him into an introvert and a coward of being discovered.
