Antonia (or Toni as she prefers to be called) is a mutant with empathic powers. She is not a telepath, but she will work with telepaths as needed in the course of treatment for her patients.
Toni is not a fighter, and at her age (in her 50s) she would prefer never to engage in battle on the scale the X-Men involve themselves in. She is also not stupid. Times change. She will adapt as needed.
In her youth, Toni played around her native Queens, NY neighborhoods with a band. (She actually was born in Brooklyn due to a poorly-timed subway malfunction, but don't tell anybody, OK?) She was lead singer, and her fashion-forward style might be toned down a tad, but at her heart she still just wants to have fun! *rim shot for cheesy 80s reference*
Her ethnic heritage is Italian, German and Swiss (as is Ms. Lauper's).
Her husband died a few years ago (his story has not been set yet, but I'll likely build on it in posts as needed)
