POWERS AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES
D's from a race of individuals that are from a parallel universe that have been conflated with and considered to be demons since their arrival, and have many abilities in common with other supernatural races. It's unknown if they are actually supernatural or if they're some sort of metahuman offshoot similar to mutants or Eternals. Though most of his race isn't aware of their true nature, D is one of the few who is.
Superhuman Strength: D, thanks to his enhanced physiology, possesses a moderate deal of superhuman strength capable of lifting 10 tons under optimal conditions. This is plenty of enough strength lift cars and trucks above his head and toss them a good distance, as well as punching through concrete and denting steel. D knows how to apply his strength properly, allowing him to take on a variety of foes.
Superhuman Stamina: D is able to perform for extended periods of time without slowing down due to fatigue.
Superhuman Durability: The composition of D's skeleton, inter-connected tissues, and nervous system are all superior to a human's. His body is somewhat more durable and resistant to damage than an ordinary human, although he's not invulnerable. While his body is tougher than an ordinary human, he can still be injured in ways comparable to an ordinary human. D can be injured by bullets or knives composed of conventional material and from impacts of sufficient force.
Superhuman Speed: D can reach running speeds of about 50 miles per hour for sustained periods, but generally opts against it and uses regular transport instead.
Superhuman Agility: D's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels beyond the human body's natural limits.
Superhuman Reflexes: D's reflexes are several times greater than those of the average human. He's able to respond to various attacks faster than the average person and could possibly dodge gunfire if he were far enough away and had enough time to respond to the situation.
Telepathy: D is a low level telepath, capable of reading the minds of others with weak protection against psionic intrusion and communicating with others.
Telekinesis: D can, psionically, levitate himself and others, as well as other objects.
Demonic Transformation: D has the ability to transform his appearance, becoming more demonic in appearance and increasing his physical attributes. He's never bothered to use this form, and doesn't even know what it looks like.
Energy Redirection: A little known and scarcely used ability of D's is the ability to take various sources of energy projection, be it lightning, magic, or any other, absorb said sources of energy and convert them into D's own energy source and re-direct them back at their source with compounding force. The process of absorbing and converting energy is strenuous and incredibly harmful for D and usually follows up with the limb used to absorb the energy becoming stiff and swollen and increasing his difficulty to breathe and function. The more he uses the ability and the more powerful attacks he uses this ability on, the more harmful it is to his body, and could likely kill him.
Strength level: Superhuman Class 10.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Expert Swordman: D is a samurai, classically trained, and is an expert in using all manner of Japanese bladed weapons
Martial Artist: D is well versed in all manner of Japanese and Southeast Asian fighting styles, from ancient to modern styles. His main style is a mixture of Pencak Silat and Judo.
WEAPONS AND EQUIPMENT
D's arsenal is made up a variety of Japanese bladed and non-bladed weaponry, most notably his Nodachi. Each weapon has been tempered and enhanced over the years via a manner of magic and alchemy to render most of them either incredibly strong, indestructible, or both.
WEAKNESSES
D feels pain just like every other person. He can be stabbed, shot, and pushed out of an airplane, and he will recieve pain. Although he's immortal, extensive trauma like decapitation or extreme mutilation would most likely kill him.
HISTORY
D was born sometime during the Sengoku period of Japan, an era of constant war. Conscripted into war at an early age, D proved to excel at combat and battle, often emerging victorious and unharmed, eventually earning him the nickname "Man with great fortune". His luck would come to an end when he was struck by cannon fire and seemingly killed. When his body rapidly healed and he returned to his feet, it was enough of a shock to cause the battle to stop. D immediately fled the battle and began to explore Japan to uncover his true nature.
Learning all he could in his home country, he traveled to many places across Asia and Europe, eventually finding himself in South America, living with local mystics. While on the continent, he trained himself and discovered the rest of his powers, then headed for England. While in England, through a strange string of events, D eventually became a "hunter", finding and defeating everything from Vampire's to Werewolves. He would come to encounter a man named Excaleus, a man of similar heritage and ability. They became fast friends and traveled the world together, and encountering many battles with creatures of the night and various other groups who sought to kill the two for being "Satan spawn." The two of them would eventually grow tired of the adventurers life would return to their home countries, keeping in contact via their psi-link they forged over the years.
Years passed, and D's life was relatively normal and subdued up until the beginnings of the second World War.
He refused to be conscripted into war, so the authorities sought to arrest him. Their attempts failed, so the Japanese government sent some secret police, early era special forces made up of individuals from The Hand that would eventually lay the groundwork for Hydra. During the fight, D became impaled on a broken pillar, and his attackers assumed him dead and began to depart; De recovered quickly and dispatched of his foes while their backs were turned, but refrained from killing them. In order to protect himself, he fled Japan and migrated to the United States.
The early days were spent dodging Us authorities to avoid being placed in internment camps before managing to reestablish a relatively normal life. A few select members of his community understood D to be more than human and occasionally came to him for help dealing with supernatural or early superhuman threats. It was through these channels that he came back into contact with his old friend Excaleus, now going by Dante, and the Vampire Alucard.
The three of them would adventure all over the world, tackling superhuman and supernatural threats as they arose. An incursion into Dimension X eventually lead them being rescued by, and ultimately teaming up with the X-Men, with whom they all shared a strong alliance with ever since, though never officially committing to the team. D would form a bond with a lot of the younger students and X-Men, teaching self defense and survival skills. One notable member was the X-Man Raiden, who he gifted a sword.
D and the others tended to stay near the more magically inclined members of the team, including Althena, who assembled her own team to fight against her twisted doppelganger across the planet and dimensional planes. D disappeared from the team for what was a handful of months from the X-Men's frame of reference but was countless eons from his perspective. When they returned, D settled in and joined the team proper, and was with the X-Men until the various inner conflicts between various X-Men teams, the X-Men and the Avengers, and Althena's spontaneous death.
In time, Dante, Alucard, and Tytanic would disappear, and various world threats would come to both the Avengers and X-Men; D bounced between both teams in order to try to find a middle ground between the various factions to come together, but eventually had enough during the second superhero Civil War and the conflict between the X-Men and Inhumans. D left both organizations and began to freelance while also searching for his missing friends. He would get dragged into a conflict involving the Infinity Gems thanks to Loki in order to stop Gamora from unmaking the universe. Following the conclusion of that conflict, D journeyed into space with the Guardians Of the Galaxy, partially to get some space from life on Earth and partially in an attempt to hopefully find something out int he universe to clue him in on what happened to Althena along the way.
He'd been in space with the team ever since.
