I spoke with Kev about this character a few weeks ago, but I was having trouble finding a name for her. The father for this character is someone who is no longer gaming, but I think a few of you will remember him from days past...
PBs are Taylor Swift and Lady Pendragon (the character I used for her mother ages ago)
Code name: Lightbearer (as homage to her mother, the original holder of the code name)
Real name: Mealla Summers (Mealla means "lightning" in Gaelic)
Nickname: Mel
Age: in her 20s
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Blue
Parents: Ben Summers and Gwyneth Matthews (both lost in a temporal wave)
Powers: Mel's powers fall into the mystic range, but her blasts look more like lightning than light itself. She does have telepathy like her father, and that seems to be stronger than the magic sometimes.
Trained by: Amergin Gluingel, the mage called on by the Clan MacFeorais for centuries, while the pair were stranded in an alternate dimension (heaven help her)
Per board history, both Ben Summers and Gwyneth Matthews "vanished" into alternate timelines long before Karenza and her family wound up in Xavier's vault. Mel actually only grew up with her mother because her parents were back together only long enough for Gwyneth to become pregnant. Ben was still possessed by The Kaelic (a demon from the pit in Annwyn), so he fled to another world to keep his family safe.
Mel grew up in a world without any version of her extended family around her, and after her mother's death, she was more or less on her own from age 15 until age 18 when Amergin Gluingel found her. The mage was working on the behest of Siofra MacFeorais to bring her family home. He trained Mel, as best he could, in the ways of magic, but it seems her genetic code is more Summers and Matthews than MacFeorais, so her magic is iffy at best. her best defense is what Gluingel calls an "electric shock blast" for lack of a more elegant term.
Cheery like her mother and a bit full-charge like her father, Mel is still trying to make a place and a name for herself in the X-Men. Or is she?
If you needed to write her epitaph, it might indeed be "Fake it 'til you make it" written on that stone.
