Age: she was born in the 1500s and grew up in a time when witches were hunted

Parents: George and Sarah MacLeod
Sarah and George both died in the hunts
Living grandparent: Malcolm MacLeod (he dates back to the 1300s) raised his granddaughters
Siblings: Prudence (half sister--mother was a demoness), Afton, Piper, Sydney
(Rose is the youngest)
Powers: all magic. Strengths are in teleportation and matter transformation
Weakness: enchanted weapons, poisons, certain spells--but apparently not hanging around with her sister Sydney
Weapons: carries a big gun that looks sort of like a big Quidditch broom. Yes, she can ride it like a broom. It can be hidden by transforming into a guitar case (a node to all those 1940s gangster movies she watches). Also has a sword that softly hums the song "As the Wind Blows" by Kitaro when it is in the presence of dark magic
Used to carry a cobalt blue sword, but she gave that up after she left the X-Men. It brought her too much pain to carry it.
Family curse: before Prudence's mother was dispatched to the great beyond, she put a curse on the sisters that would keep them from finding true love or staying with the one they love
Bio:
Rose was born outside Aberdeen, and she was more than happy to stay in the woods hidden from all of the world. Unlike her sisters, Rose has always been a more solitary soul. Give her a book, a blanket and a tree to sit under, and she is happy.
Too bad for Rose that the world demanded more of her than becoming a librarian or an author.
The MacLeods kept their following of the old religion secret until the girls' mother Sarah went to help a neighbor and was exposed. After she was put to death, their father took them to live in the farthest reaches of Scotland with their grandfather Malcolm. The family seemed to stay safe until George was killed in battle. Malcolm kept moving the family and training the girls in the art he had learned, namely demon hunting. That is where things went even worse.
The girls met up with a demoness on one hunt, unaware that it was the mother of their half sister Prudence. With her dying breath, the demoness cursed Sarah's daughters--Afton, Piper, Sydney and Rose--to lives without love. While Rose did not scoff at the curse, she was not about to let it destroy her life. She'd face it head on.
Aside from her books, Rose loves old movies and often wishes life were as simple as it seemed in the celluloid world. She has a big heart, and her heart has often left her in trouble. She once met her end while with the X-Men but was resurrected by her sisters as they gave some of their own life energies to save her.
Pre House of M info:
Rose was developing a relationship with the X-Man Ein Hayabusa at the time she was killed, and even she is not sure what he made of her resurrection. He had probably seen a lot of unusual things with the X-Men anyway, but she never had the guts to ask him. If nothing else, she still considers him a friend and would die for him--even if this time her resurrection was not in the cards. Having played that once before, the trick was likely one she and her sisters could not call on again.
Rose did gift Ein with a talisman for his sword. It was a red ribbon with the symbol of the Clan MacLeod--a bull. She gave it to him during a chat in Breakstone Lake when her sisters first arrived at the school with Mr. Pippins their cat.
Their last days with the X-Men were a blur, and Rose ran after her sister when Sydney's profession of love for Dante Walker did not go as Syd had planned. Unfortunately, both of them got bounced to another dimension thanks, they have since found out, to the magic-gone-amok work of the Scarlet Witch.
After many false starts, Sydney and Rose are headed home, but is it the home they left behind? Are Ein and Dante still even in the picture, or did Maximoff's spell wipe them from reality? Rose would just have to find out for herself.
Post re-entry to the board after House of M: This is the area I need to go back and check on in old posts. Rose and Ein, if I remember correctly (and if Ray still wishes to follow this path) were together as a couple. I will also need to chat with Ray about Ein's status now that he is back. Rose travels around a lot herself, and she knows Ein has his own life to lead outside of any relationship.
