The true matriarch of the Clan MacFeorais and the consummate chess player when it comes to the lives of others...
PB is Dame Judi Dench
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nom de Guerre: The Black Faerie
Real name: Sifora Ó Catháin MacFeorais
(Siofra means "faerie" or "changeling" in Gaelic, and Ó Catháin means "battler")
Age: closer to 2,000 years old than you would want to imagine
Hair: Silver
Eyes: Blue
Height: Petite would be the acceptable term in the modern age
Weight: None of your business
Sister: Caoimhe (deceased--killed in the War of Amenth)
Brothers: Siofra has two brothers, but I have not named them or their children yet.
Husband: Ruadhri (deceased)
Children: Valen, Ronan and Ian (sons); Eavan (daughter)
Grandchildren:
from Ronan and Kennis MacFeorais--Branan, Cormac, Malachi and Ewan (grandsons); Kari, Roslea, Dana and Hayley (granddaughters)
from Eavan MacFeorais and Declan Branigan--Mairead (granddaughter) and Keegan (grandson)
Note: Siofra can be a bit odd when it comes to her family. She can be gushing one moment and a bit of a bitch the next. Ronan and Eavan are trying to get her to tone it down.
Siofra has also never met the X-Men beyond Jordan DaCosta/Diva.
Powers: Witchbreed in the very old school sense of the term--spellcaster, shapeshifter and the original family "battle axe" when in the fight. She is also a precognitive.
She protects her own: Siofra is not the greatest champion of the "mutant cause" at times because she does not see herself as a mutant.
Bio (please bear with me as I flesh her out for this world):
Siofra was neither a princess nor a great conjurer in your youth. She found her fame in battle, and that is what pulled her into the halls of the High King and the arms of Ruadhri MacFeorais. She was smart and ruthless, and she used her skills to move her family into a position of power, especially after her son Ronan married Kennis Etain DalCais, a relative (albeit a tad distant) of Brian Boru.
Sifora is the one who made the bargain with the Morrigan for Kari to become her avatar when she was born. Ronan and Kennis would never have made that choice, but Sifora saw it as a way to cement the family squarely into history.
As the clan started to reappear after the Shadow King and Cassandra Nova's plot failed, Siofra started "collecting" family members and allies. Heaven only knows what she has on her agenda at the moment.
It is coming to light that Siofra was at the Battle of Amenth to fight the demon horde, and in that battle she lost her sister Caoimhe. This battle caused her to make the deal with The Morrigan to ensure Kari was an External and The Morrigan's avatar. More will come to light about how much Siofra manipulated her family, and eventually the X-Men, in her quest to take down Apocalypse for the loss of her sister. She is a precognitive, a skill she uses often but rarely speaks about. How far she can see the future is unclear, but if aided by a god/goddess, her chances are better than most to see a more long-range future.
After she was stopped possessing Kari by Kari's brother Rory, Siofra fled the family home in Ireland. Rory believed she left this dimension, but she has instead gone to the home of one of her great nephews in the outlaw island nation of Bagalia. Bagalia, under the dictatorship of the leader of the Masters of Evil, Helmut Zemo, is not the place for a cookie-baking kind of grandmother. It is the perfect place to hide if you are trying to evade people.
The question is--what good is a spellcaster to Helmut Zemo? And what can the Master of Evil and Hydra leader do for a 2,000 faerie?
Do you really want to find out?
