JJ looked at Lu as she walked over and started trying to quiz Fantomex on how things were going, and JJ smacked her head with her left hand. The stuff with Kwannon and Betsy was one thing, and JJ would roll with whatever happened there, but Lu being all big sister was another story. "Babe, if Kwannon gave me a big welcoming hug, I am sure things will go smoothly," JJ whispered to Fantomex as she grabbed his hand for a minute. "And Lu, things are beyond peachy. I am not a little kid anymore," she said a bit more loudly to her sister before releasing Fantomex's hand and walking to Dragonfly and Deadpool.
"Wade, can a girl get a word in, please?" she asked politely as she looked at the merc and the External. "I was the one bringing you up, Drag. I'm glad you made it here for the big day. I just got back myself from some whacked out nonsense in California, and I was just curious who else was around that I hadn't seen yet. You had my back the last time I was here when Meka was trying to make things crazy, and I wanted you to know I appreciate it."
JJ turned to look at Lu again. "So...I can't wait to see where you and Hollywood plan to live on the island. Living on an island? Who'd have thought two kids from the Ninth Ward would end up in a place like this?"

By this point Hayley had taken Brodie back to be with Piper, and she was growing a bit peeved that her name was being tossed around for any team at all. As far as she was concerned, this was not going to be a permanent thing. She still had her house in San Francisco, and she had every intention of going back there as soon as this was all in the history books.
She was not about to bother D and Dante because they were too busy with Marcela, and the thought of talking to Sydney about any of this was just beyond ludicrous at the moment. Sydney would go wherever Dante wandered, even if he did not want her to join him.
At least Hayley would give Adrian the one thing he seemed to need the most--space. If anything were truly wrong with him, she was sure she'd have been able to sense it. At the moment he was not on her radar in a bad way, so she had to take that and run with it.
"My sister should not be volunteering me for any team, Betsy," Hayley said as she walked over to the group around Betsy, Saber and Brian. "I really have not had the experience in Otherworld or Camelot that Kari has. Roslea lived on the Holy Isle for a time, as has Enya. They might be of more help to you. As for D and Dante, I do not speak for them. But from what I know of both men, they would be an asset to your new team. And do not roll your eyes at me, Dana."
"Blah, blah, blah," Dana replied as she moved her hand like a mouth speaking. "Get over yourself, go talk to Kari and move forward. I do not want to have to get Cormac involved in this with you two. And if this is all about Adrian, for the sake of all our sanity, go find the man!"
Hayley growled under her breath as she glared at Dana. "You have found Pete again. In whatever form this takes, I am happy for you. Not all of us are destined for that sort of resolution. And I am sure if Adrian needed me, I'd know."
"As if!" Sydney hollered as she came charging over. "And if the guys do join, you can count me in. But I'd let them get things sorted out for Dante before you do. And Dana is right, Hayley. Go find Adrian!"

Kari took a deep breath and tried to still the small voice in the back of her head that was telling her not to listen to everyone and avoid going to Muir Island. She wasn't sure if that was The Morrigan trying to keep her from seeing what was to come with Nathan, or if it was The Morrigan trying to make sure Kari didn't interject herself into what was to come and change the outcome. Oh, how she wanted to alter this scenario. There was no questioning that! But, she also knew she could not.
As she shook her head while looking at Emma, she tried very, very hard not to let The White Queen see what was going on inside her mind. She had to keep stray thoughts from hitting Rachel and Jean as well. And Kari was realizing how out of practice she was at juggling all these balls at once. Rust was not a thing she wore well.
"Muir Island," she said quietly as she looked at Emma. "Not exactly my favorite place on the planet, that's for sure," she continued as she remembered how Alucard and the box he had in his possession had saved her and Hayley the last time they set foot on that Scottish rock pile. "That idiot Mindbender from that rebooted Weapon Plus nightmare. And all those people from the dimension where my family lost the plot and tried to rule the world. Yes, Muir Island is not the place I'd wander to on my own, I guess, but if I am needed, then I guess that is where I shall be."
Kari turned back to Nathan and tried to blink away a few stray tears. She winced once before looking around to the group headed to Muir. For the briefest of moments, the Askani Phoenix flickered around her, and just as quickly, it vanished. "I'll go, Nathan."
"This has become my family in more ways than one and family supports each other. " The redhead said before she noticed Rainmaker looking on with a slight look of confusion. Elda just smiled. "Your mother is my half sister. A connection that is more than blood. It's the universe itself that connects us." She said before saying once again.
"I'm coming as well." |

Annika stood with her arms crossed as she saw Colin, Ardan and Fachtna having a not too pleasant chat, and watching them was giving her a headache.
"I take it Colin is being his lovable self," she said as she finally walked over to the trio. "I heard you mention Moira. What needs healing?"
"You don't heal people!" Colin protested as Annika pulled out a hypo spray and waved it in front of her brother. "Oh. I forget you do field medic work sometimes."
"I heard you mention Saorla," she said to Fachtna as their aunt started to mutter in Gaelic. "I take it that's bad. I've never met her."
"She works for the highest bidder. I know she was with Siofra on Bagalia for a bit. I can only imagine what they got up to," Fachtna replied as Annika finally got her brother to stop fidgeting and gave him the injection of healing serum.
"You really don't want to imagine," Colin said as he nodded to his sister. "Thanks. Why is Mum talking to Emma?"
"You know, to be civil? Because today is a new start? Because we've all grown a bit?" Annika said as she stowed the empty hypo spray in her jacket. "Emma doesn't bite. Now, do you plan to just mope, or are you going to go ride one of those big wolves the Howletts are all heading out on? If I were you, I'd go ride a wolf."

Curran had been talking to his Grandpa Ronan when he saw a lot of people gathering around his mom and dad and Emma. "I'm going to see what's up with Mom," he said to Ronan as he gave his grandfather a hug and ran up to his father. "Dad, if you guys are going to see about Grandpa Scott," he said as he stood next to Cable, "then I'd like to go, too. I know. I should be hanging out with the New Mutants. But this is family stuff. I should be there."
For too long Curran had felt like the fifth wheel, and he thought now might be the time to take the plunge and figure out what his next move should be.
"I've never been to Muir Island. Isn't that where you were when you thought Mom died in the Sentinel Hive during the Summers War? And isn't that where you took Baby Hope into the future? It's so important to mutant history and to our family in particular. I think I could help," he said to Cable with a big smile before turning to see Elda with his mom.

I know he's been a friend of Saber's for a long time, and I hope he knows he is welcome here. I have had my concerns about him in the past, but today is a time for change," she added as she nodded in Emma's direction. "An alliance with Asgard is one that, I hope, can be built going forward. I am sure Emma, Charles and Erik have already started to lay the groundwork for such alliances with many world leaders."
As Kari stood there, she could not help but let her mind wander to all the other world leaders they might need to court. Some of them were probably going to be a problem, but those concerns would wait for another day.
"I wonder when we will be heading out," Kari said as she looked back toward her husband. "Nathan, any clue on a departure time?"

a telepathic static around the island.. There is a lot of history on Muir island.. Those are some of the history
that we had experienced.. Honestly before you were born we fought a war with the Shadow King and I feel
that island was stained by its darkness..” Cable answered Curran as best as he could before turning to Kari
and Emma..
“We should be going in a few minutes now we have a team.. Honestly I have never had a positive experience
with that island.. As I told Curran we should expect the worst going in..” Cable conveyed.. |

“You may be right Nathan.. As a telepath the Island creeps me out on a psychic level..” Emma
responded as she lowered her head and tried to maintain herself.. A part of her wanted to join
them because she desperately wanted to know if Scott was alive.. Deep down inside of her she
knew that she had to leave it to Jean and her family.. With Jean.. Cable and Karenza both going
seemed to comfort her in a strange way..
“Thank you Kari for accepting my offer for the Quiet Council and I wish you all the luck in finding
Scott and bringing him back.” Emma said as she left in a hurry to join the rest of the Hellfire that
was gathered on the Warlock floating boat.. Once She made it aboard she took a seat close to Kate..
As she sat silently she struggled with how much she loved Cyclops and how much she hoped that he
was still alive..

“Kari joining us would be bad ass!” Jackson said to Rachel as he looked out at Cable standing off to the side as Karenza and the White Queen
were still talking.
“So have you and your mother tried to psychically connect to your father? I know that you and Jean would have felt something.” Ravager said
as Rachel turned to him and could tell that she was in deep thought before she was about to speak. He knew by this pause that this was going
to be a simple answer.
on this mission..
“You're absolutely right about Kari joining us my love.. I now feel like we have enough of the right
people for whatever awaits us on Muir Island..” Rachel responded to Ravager before walking over
to Carran..
“Welcome to the team Curran I am looking forward to seeing you out in the field.. I am hoping that
it is not going to be as bad as Cable makes it sound.. You know your dad always prepares for the worst..
Anyway it does play out. I am glad you will be there with us..” Rachel said to Curran as she reached over
and gave her nephew a hug..
