Colin knew all about sacrifice and the hardship of being a mutant. After seeing all of these people rescued by the X-men and hearing some of their stories he understood that he didn’t have it as bad as some. Still he was reluctant to tell people the extent of his powers. If people knew that he could not only suppress powers but remove them completely. Would he still be welcome here among them? Colin shook his head slightly to scare away the hesitation creeping into his thoughts. He looked between everyone at the table and swallowed the lump in his throat.
“You Misunderstand Miss. My powers aren’t dangerous by touch but just being around me.” Colin focused on Stacy X and found the thread of her mutant power then he smothered it until her power was gone. Colin imagined what she felt as his aura of power washed over her. Did she feel that scratching over her skin or the absence of something that she had felt for most of her life? Colin didn’t know how it felt to others who were effected by his power.
His focus returned to keeping his aura close to his body he saw the thread of Stacy X power return quickly. The longer he suppressed a power the longer it took to return to normal. This he had found out purely by accident. He could have retained every power at the table and possibly the room but he could feel that there were many powerful mutants around him and he didn’t want to upset anyone before he knew the truth about this place.
